I find that many times when someone thinks someone else is not being polite on here, they're just not familiar with the way that person writes/expresses themselves. I know of at least three people on here that are routinely accused of being impolite, but are really really good people (at least I think they are). All three of them just try to give good advice the best way they can, but do so in individualistic ways that some people take wrong. I'm sure that everyone writes things, at times, that they don't realize how it sounds until later on. It's part of life on the internet. Krycek1984, your fairly new around here and I know you've had a couple of run-ins with people, but I bet, if you stick around, you will find that even those people are really generally pretty friendly once you get to know them. Horticultural knowledge on Gardenweb ranges from contributors with world-wide renowned expertise (really, I'm not exaggerating) to complete beginners with their own strange ideas (lol). Once you get to know who's who and how people express themselves, you'll feel more and more at home (hopefully, at least).

Yeah, I figured all those eye level photos had you down on the cold cold ground. Me, if I can pick up the pot, it gets placed where I don't have to crawl around. Getting too old for that. Jon, just about every batch of photos I take I have to make a quick trip outside to read a label or identify a hosta in the background. Sun glaring off the tags can be really irritating. I never take a pen and paper with me, but I attempt to include the tag in the shot. And, as soon as I come inside, I try to add tags to the photos before I forget who's who. This year, so many of my hosta are changing their appearance, it is a whole different ballgame. And then I still have some which are reluctant to break dormancy. Someone (Gesila? Babka?) asked on another thread why I still had hosta dormant. I'll try to account for it in another thread. Not here. Enjoy your emerging beauties, Jon. Impressive!

I have two in one bed that have been up for a couple of months. I have six in another bed that are just now beginning to push through the ground that I had given up on. Go figure! Same amount of sunlight. The only thing that's a little different is the 1st set has a little bit better soil. I say - don't give up yet!
