White subway tile backsplash. What color grout? Black? White?
Comments (27)I have the Subway Ceramics Avalon / Minas with a medium gray grout. And a Shaw's white sink, if anyone is considering that, by the way. (My contractor could have ordered it directly, but at his request, I went through a tile store, and by the time everyone had put their sugar onto it, it was OBSCENELY expensive.) I'm not an installation expert, but at least with the Subway Ceramics, the installers use little plastic spacers between the tiles (I think some others have their own spacers?) when they put them up, they don't do it freehand, so how much grout you get is a function of 1) the limits set by the curvature of the tile and 2) what size spacers they use. So you might be willing to go a little darker with a smaller grout line, or with a handmade tile that refuses to go close together, you might want to stay light. The traditional color is close to concrete. But most modern people don't seem to like that, so do what pleases you!...See MorePics of stone backsplash for white on black kitchen please!!
Comments (2)I would not do tumbled. It is not as popular as it once was, although there are people who still use it. A warning though. A member here recently had problems with hers having a pinkish cast to it. How about glass? A marble? Fire and Ice in the grey family? I am not sure what white chiffon is. But, in choosing you want to pick up the same tone as your cabinets. Other wise one can make the other can look dingy....See MoreBacksplash suggestions (white cainet and wild rice caesarstone)
Comments (2)the counter is very neutral. Do you have hardware chosen-I'd get a theme going with backsplash and hardware. Can't say because so many things work with the counter-bronze /pewter hardware or the new polished nickel I've seen is a little more showy-for backsplash-pull the malty cream out of counter or darker glass mosaics-black-dark grey for drama[with the polished nickel hardware!], or white glass,or plain off white ceramic tile with darker grout for interest-just what do you like? Serious or more of a fun, bold look??...See MoreAny pics of white subway tile backsplash with white cabs?
Comments (4)there are lots here with dark counters; you may find some if you search on "subway". Here is a link to mine, but I used bisque (beveled), not pure white. Here is a link that might be useful:...See MoreSuzi AKA DesertDance So CA Zone 9b
