Need help identifying & treating this disease/fungus?

This first appeared on my container Clementine Nules. It started out as small black dots & spread all over the tree leaves & blossoms within a couple of days. Apparently, it does not discriminate because now all my container plants have this issue. I have tried a baking soda, dish detergent , oil spray. I also tried Spectracide Immunox in a desperate moment- ugh : -( . I am now seeing some of the dots turn a rust color. Does anyone recognize this problem & have a solution? Will something like this kill my trees? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

Is it humid in your climate?

Anyway i have a mulberry tree and the leaves look just like that. It is right in front of the outdoor A/C unit and the hot air that comes out blows on it a bit.

I dont really know what it is though.

Are there any bugs on the leaves?

tlbean2004, thank you for your response. I am located in Virginia Beach, VA. Our weather has been fluctuating a lot lately. A couple of the recent days have been very humid and in the 90's while other days have been cool 70's. We have also had spells of dry sunny breezy days and a couple rainy wet days. In regards to pests, I have found a couple of small "regular" spiders and one tiny red spider (spider mite?). I have removed all that I found, sprayed with insecticidal soap and have not seen any others for the last few days. Hopefully, someone here can identify the problem and has a cure. I am rather new to gardening and am learning as I go. :-)

How often do you water and for how long? How high/low do you mow? The weeds can be handled by something like Spectracide with Atrazine. But I would wait until the grass returns. I have gotten excellent results for fungal disease using ordinary corn meal. It is an organic approach that the experts at Texas A&M swear up and down does not work, but it has worked for me every year since 2002. It is a complete cure in 3 weeks. I am suggesting you try that because corn meal doubles as an organic fertilizer. Your spots don't look that much like a disease, but it could be. If you did not have the really healthy stand of grass right by the sidewalk, it would look more like disease. I would hit it with corn meal at 20 pounds per 1,000 square feet now and again in 3 weeks. If you don't see new grass coming up in 4 weeks, then get a commercial fungicide that works in your heat/precipitation zone - read the label closely to see how to apply and when. Corn meal has no restrictions on how or when. Then once you get the grass growing, zap the dollar weed (I assume dichondra or some other easy weed) and let it grow. And if you have not already raised your mower to the highest setting, do that yesterday.

The browning on the leaf edges in your first photo looks like drought. Your second photo is certainly the most colorful rhododendron leaf I've seen...but nothing I recognize. It's not clear to me what the insects are, but I suspect you may have more than one problem to address, cultural contitions (water) and what else, I'm not sure. I think the best thing for you to do is take a sample leaf for a visual ID as suggested earlier. I don't know exactly where you are...Seattle area, Wells in Medina has a very experienced staff (I was there just yesterday)but any full service nursery should be able to help. You can also type the name of your county, followed by extension agent office, into a search engine like google and come up with your closest extension office where they would also be able to examine a sample from your plant. Try to include one of the insects, put the leaf in a zip lock sandwich bag. And let us know....

Google pear blister mites. That's what it is. You can try spraying with wettable sulfur following the label. If you can find lime sulfur, it is a more effective spray for PBM but the best time to spray is right before the trees leaf out. it won't kill the trees but it sure makes leaves look ugly.

Yea looks like that! I just googled it. Seems like I'm pretty much just waiting until fall in that case... Some places say its from dryness but that is NOT my problem. Some say fertilize some say DONT fertilize. I basically have crappy undrained soil.

Some sort of fungus... doesn't really matter what it is called. Treat with a fungicide and repeat in a cupla weeks, or when symptoms appear again.
I treat my trees with a systemic fungicide; because where my trees are it is always hot and humid.

Ask your local garden store or nursery. What I use is Bayer Silvacur; but I don't think you can get it where you live.
