What is your favorite pillow?
Comments (52)Thank you all so much! GW is such a great site to ask for opinions. Much better even than reading reviews on the various sites. Tib, I think the Natura won't need an additional pillow cover as it already has the zippered one on it. I can't wait to get it and the summer bed from Rough Linen. I hate spending that much on bedding but I am getting very persnickety in my dotage. Msrose, I will let you know what I think of my pillow after it arrives and I have had some time to analyze. I too use a pillow cover with a pillow slip over it. Lynn, I have so many excess pillows that I will have sham stuffers for the rest of my days. I have also given pillows away after sleeping on them for one night. I just want a pillow to love so I can stop this insane quest for the perfect one!...See MoreTib my pillow is here
Comments (9)I actually took that terry/wool cover off my Natura pillow last night, Holly, and I was a lot happier! must go back and forth ,because I remember when I put it on, I was a lot happier. Hmmmmâ¦.. Rough Linen will have to wait. I threw everything I had at the house, when I bought it, to make it rentable; have to keep some reserve for emergency repairs, so other than that, I'm moving into scrimp and save mode! Hope you enjoyed your first night with your new pillow. I'm feeling a bit frantic that you bought it on my recommendation, worried you'll hate it! they're not inexpensive pillows!...See MoreComforters/Duvets- Natural Materials (Not down)?
Comments (15)Linelle, a wool-filled comforter is going to be heavier than a down comforter. I don't know how to describe the weight of a comforter, though, so when you ask if it's heavy, I really don't know how to answer that. If you sleep cold my advice is thus: Get wool socks and sleep in them. If your feet are warm, your body will be a lot warmer; Get a white goose down winter-weight comforter, a good one, and a flannel duvet cover for it from either LL Bean or Garnet Hill and sleep under ONLY that, no sheets. Kick it up so that the bottom of the comforter is under your feet, i.e.: like a sleeping bag, and the sides are pulled in right next to your body. You will be toasty warm. And putting duvet comers on comforters is NOT hard at all....See MoreTalk to me about bedding, please
Comments (24)I also have the St. Dormeir wool pad. You can wash it (though I haven't yet), but it would not protect the mattress from seepage if a kid has an accident. As far as pillows, they are the hardest thing to recommend to someone else because preferences vary so greatly. When we bought our latex mattress, I tested the various latex pillows at the store and could not find one with the right loft. I ended up with a shredded latex pillow, which worked well for me because I could remove the amount of latex necessary to make the pillow work for me. I now love it so much I bought one for my mom, since I was sure she'd love it, too. And she could not have hated it more. So now I have 2 nice shredded latex pillows! My recommendation for pillows is to go to a good bedding store and try them all out. Listening to people's recommendations online is likely to result in your spending good money on something that doesn't work for you....See More- 9 years ago
