I don't have the notification enabled but if I click to send anyone here an email, an ancient email address of mine appears with a red lettered warning saying I can email people but they couldn't respond because mine's *hidden*.... Makes it difficult to communicate without putting your info out there for the world. Many times I'd have liked to offer starts of my plants to people. Too bad this site doesn't have a Private Messaging system. What do you say, Mods? Any chance of getting PM set up?

Some (most?) email clients (both webmail and desktop versions) tend to have an easy way to add an address to a contact list. Sometimes you can simply go to the message list (your inbox or saved message folder) and hover over the sender's name and right-click and you'll be given an option to add him/her to the contacts. Or you might have to open the message. Then looking at the sending information above the message text, hover over the sender's name/address and right-click and you may find the 'add to addressbook' option at that point. Depending on what program you use, there will undoubtedly be something like the above to help you quickly add the address to a contact list/address book. :-)

bart bart - I am so glad to hear that I am not alone in the universe in that I do not, and have never, and have no plans to, own(ed) a smart phone! I have never wanted to carry my computer around in my purse or pocket - I have enough trouble with my actual computer (which I keep locked in my office - it can't get into too much trouble there, and they can "track" its location all they want). There was a long article in the paper (I think the WSJ) yesterday about how smart phone providers are all moving to demanding that you pay them only by giving them access to your bank account. That is crazy - every day I read about some huge company being hacked and having all its users' "secure" personal info stolen, and I have no desire for my banking info to suddenly be on the "dark web". My flip phone, which I have ONLY for emergencies, is totally off 99% of the time, and will stay that way. fig_insanity - I can't imagine your frustration - I hope you manage to re-construct your lost contacts somehow. I agree with everyone that every time some sort of system says they are "updating", it is usually a catastrophe. Jackie
