Ok..First of all, the curse of the lemon meyer!! But have no fear, you can prevail! Immediately, I mean immediately, I would get that plant out of the soil ASAP.... That soil your using, has been the DEATH of all mine when I first began. It holds way too much water, a perched water table which citrus HATE in our growing regions, no matter what the product claims, and it holds way to much residue fertilizer salts that can turn leaf tips brown. Your roots should look a healthy white. Take a peak while you are add it, if not, it is killing your tree fast. Therefore the branches dying..Root rot kills the branches, but first the leaves drop, usually green and or yellow..The leafs drop green if under watered and root damaged has taken hold.. Is there a way you can STRAIN out all the peat moss in that soilless mix you bought? Please let me know..I will give you a great idea? Do you have quick access to good nursery mix? You live in Ohio? You need to keep your tree on the dry side with such a lack of sunlight, and make sure it absolutely needs watering before you do it again.. Let us leave it at here, until you change the soil..Nothing else is going to help it, until you first take this step. That soilless mix is junk! Sorry..:-( Let me know when you have done the first step, and or if you want too.. I will then guide you from there..You NEED to put that plant in a FAST draining soilless mix, that dries out rather rapidly. One that is porous and provides great gas exchange after each watering. One that allows the salts to flush out at each watering. One that allows you to feed at every watering. One that provides oxygen and does not suffocate the roots..Does not take too long to dry out, or compact:-) There might still be hope. How much sun does it get? How are the temps? What size, kind of pot is it in? How long has it been taking the soil mix to dry out? What kind of water do you provide it with? Do you use vinager? What kind of analysis, or how high is the ph of your water? What are your cultural habits in detail.. Mike

There is no exact answer when one is trying to figure out yellow leaves.. If there is a Nitrogen problem, then ones needs to get to the root of the problem which can be caused by many reason.. One thing I have figured out after all these years is there is never a concrete answer for any situation. Some factors are a bad soil choice, over watering, lack of light, over heated roots, cold roots, extreme temps, the wrong fertilizer, past root damage that can all lead to deficiencies...I would do the process of elimnation, and figure out the root cause one factor at a time.. This you do by giving us as much detail as possible..Let's start with the kind of mix it's in? It looks like cedar chips or red wood which would rob nitrogen from your soil as soon as it starts to decompose, which to me it looks like that. In the last picture, it almost looks to dry, which can cause leaaf wilt and severe root damge right away...Causing roots to not function properly once watered which leads to root rot and then nutrient and water uptake almost impossible.. Or it could be porr fertilizing habits or using a fertilizer that does not meet the needs of your tree. As John says, a huge change in sunlight can also drop the leaves that were use to Califorina light and temps, which is nothing close to us here in Boston. My first guess though is the mix, since 80% of the time is always the culprit to begin with..

Christina, those other leaves look mighty fine and dark green. You must of been doing something right all year. Many times citrus will drop leaves, turn color or even get attacked by pests this time of the year. The cold comes into play. A lot less direct over head sunlight like summer and watering has to be pulled back dependent on the temps.. That leaf looks like it just naturally fell off.....Mike When you sprayed with Neem, did you spray under the leaves too? Looks like you did the tops but not the bottom..

I had some mix left over too which was good cause I used it to amend some pots of other stuff I just brought in. again, I’ll keep you posted on what my brother advises and what I end up getting for a light. @poncirusguy6b452xx you were involved in my post last year about my first disastrous Meyer lemon experience and I trust your opinion as well! could you include a link to the light you use? gathering all information before I decide and purchase! I think this needs to happen sooner than later because it’s been pretty gloomy here in Chicago. after the repot Tuesday night, so were about 44 hours in....the tree seems stable. I haven’t noticed any changes yet. Hasn’t gotten worse, hasn’t gotten better. The new buds seem to continue to grow so that may be a good sign. sorry @Meyermike(Zone 6a Ma.) i believe it was you who did advise to take them off but I just can’t get myself to do it, I figure if the tree needs to, it will drop them on it’s own.
