Cheater blooms!

OK, so I bought these roses with the buds already on them...but they opened in my garden!

I'll buy that rationale. Works for me--especially Garden Party, one of my favorites over the years. And everyone likes Blue Girl.

Beautiful. Queen Elizabeth is so regal isn't she. One of my most productive roses.

Thanks everybody. I'm sooooo ready to get tons of blooms and really am enjoying any all of you have posted. Irisgal it's one I dug up from my sweet mother in laws house after she passed away so no clue what it is. My sister gave me the little pinky purple bell one in the Plum Perfect bouquet. I bought me some white and pink lily of the valley hoping to use with bouquets and kinda have the same look. Thanks again everyone!!!

Wow, April - I can see why you wanted to share the last pic.Those azaleas and the viburnum are stunning!!! The Cheater blooms are gorgeous. Like the first Kordana. I bought a couple last year and planted them out in the garden. The survived the winter very well and bushing out nicely - don't have many buds yet but it is early days. Sharlene

WHoops! Our Heirloom should be counted with the "Cheater Blooms". LOL Love that term, but I agree with Seil that we bought and paid for them soooo.... I just don't want to take full credit for growing them when all I've done so far is remember to water them. ;-) lol We've had Cheater Blooms so far this spring from Fragrant Cloud, Blue Girl, Lady Emma, English Perfume, Heirloom, Pat Austin, and Princess Alexandria of Kent (?). Although the first two are now working on new flushes, and maaaybe I'll get blooms close to what they came with? Finger crossed. I'll fully claim those. ;-) LOL I am kind of claiming the ones that I haven't planted yet; the ones that are hanging out in the pot ghetto or greenhouse. For example, we picked up the mini "Cupcake" in an early year pink sale from Heirloom Roses. It came to us early last month as a band of 3 tiny leafless canes, but now has the cutest little pink blooms.

Oops, thanks for catching that, Mantis. It is Graceful Medley. At least a couple other plants have fewer buds. Terry Lyninger bloomed today, never heavy bud count but only 5 to 7 buds per scape. Usually it is around 10 maybe 12. at least it usually reblooms.

Seil, they're gorgeous, just like all your pictures. I love Garden Party. I planted a Queen Elizabeth this year, I've really missed it.

Oh how beautiful! I love your cheater blooms! I have a couple cheaters on the way so I feel your excitement! Your Sonia is so pretty, I was just checking on mine today and it looks like it survived our crazy winter! Your QE has perfect form, awesome!

So funny Seil. I think the same thing every time I ooh and ahhh over my cheater blooms. We did dig the hole and care for them babies so by the time the next flush comes I take full credit. Love your cheater blooms! Blue Girl is scrumptious as is QE. Love them. Judy

Blue Girl is my all time favorite rose. Yours is just gorgeous. I think I need to find a Queen Elizabeth!

Thank you! We got into the 80s today and all of these are blown now. I have some buds coming on Black Baccara that should open in a day or so. After that I'll have to wait until my older plants bloom in June.
