What about the Kitchen Aid warming drawer (link below)? It seems to deliver all the goods plus functions as a slow cooker for a lot less than the Wolf. I don't like the location of the Wolf warming drawer's controls. They seem vulnerable to spills. The Dacor we used in our last house lacked crisp/moist controls and gave the installer fits (which, I accept, probably says more about the installer). Our designer wants us to put the warming drawer in a stack below a pair of ovens (or an oven and a microwave). I prefer to have the warming drawer higher than that and also want it in a location where it can be accessed at the same time someone is tending to the oven(s). Whatever we choose, our new warming drawer will almost certainly go in the island (where there will be plenty of depth), either on the far side from the ovens and cooktop or opposite the space between them. They'll definitely hold the weight, but you should check the height of your appliances. If, by chance, your appliances are too tall for the drawers, you could do pull out drawers behind cabinet doors. The 153 degree hinges will allow you to do this, though there are no 36" interior drawer fronts, so you'd have to do a modification to make it work completely, but it's been done. If the heights work for you, you're fine. I LOVE my 36" IKEA drawers. The bottom one holds all my pots, pans, and lids. The middle one holds all my dishes (dinner, and salad size), all my bowls, and all my mixing bowls. It's amazing. Kristen

So a fellow Houzz'er posted their new kitchen and I really like their microwave "garage" and how the door pulled out and up! We planned to do a Sektion hi-cab for a built in oven and microwave. I would like to still go with the same hi-cab, but i want to put a drawer front over a standard countertop microwave. I'm sure i can figure out the hardware and modify the drawer front and cabinet to work, but i'd thought i'd ask to see if someone has already done it.

Hi AMS! You're getting brave and creative;) If you stay with IKEA for this, I'd hack a 24" base for MW with drawer. It comes with a shelf, the Forbattra cover strip and fasteners that you'll need to use as horizontal filler piece. Not sure which model FP dishdrawer you want, but I'd do the tall height which requires a cavity of 18"H x 23 5/8W x 22 1/16"D. I would mount it at the top with one 10" drawer at the bottom (add an inner drawer if you want). This makes the installation hack easier and no worries about water ruining the drawer base and front. Your 36" cab to the left of the sink will give you plenty of room in the top drawer for cutlery and more. And you have the drawers by the range for cooking utensils. I'd put your wraps and tupperware in the bottom drawers below the DW. Now the hack: I would cut the two sides to meet the cutout requirements, leaving the back and 1 15/16" of the back sides intact. The filler would be cut and attached between the opening and the drawer (18" dishdrawer + 2" filler + 10" drawer = 30"). If you try it this way you can still mount the cab to the rail and to the sink cabinet and 12" pullout cabinet. I would add a Fixa countertop support fixture on each of those two cabinets to make up for the missing cabinet sides. Of course, you could still do a 5" above and below, but it will be a more complex install and I'd plan to get extra drawer fronts and bottoms. I would apply the moisture tape to the bottom of the top drawer too. You could apply the same installation hack as above but swapping the bottom drawer for a low maximera with 5" front and adding the 5" at the top. You'd still have 2" of filler. Hope this makes sense!
