Thanks all! My Colorado friend and I were discussing this long distance today. Now, the Colorado couple does not know any of these people, but they are the kind of folks that take to, and enjoy and develop friendships from just such experiences. As an aside, although they won't attend the actual wedding (father of bride told me the guest list was full ((and quite frankly, that is OK with my Colorado friends))), they will be coming to the next day's post-wedding picnic and gathering in the Beaujolais country,complete with continued partying as guests of our host. (Geeze, these French do continue their parties!). They want also to bring a present to the hosts, as some of you suggested, and I'm sure a card or greeting to the newlyweds. Anyhow, we talked of our respective gifts. I am thinking of bringing some Georgia peach preserves, or vidalia onion chutney, maybe Georgia pecans, etc. Small, easy to tote. A photo of their daughter with us during her internship time sounds good too. (Something consumable, something permanent). My Colorado friend allowed as how they have buffalo products there, as befits the area. She's thinking of some buffalo jerky or other preserved meat. (Heck, I'd like to try Buffalo jerky!). Anyone else have any good ideas what would be Coloradoan? Or Georgian? Or have we hit upon enough ideas to mark the experience adequately?

Thanks for the info..I will definately put it in the joint. In the back of my brain I think I new better about using the joints..guess I had to learn the hard way!!! I have tried to wrap wire but am not very good at it yet (ya I know, I'll get better!!!) d3bbi- thank you for the link, I'll take a gander at it!! calamity- I think your right about loving to do it!!I do get frustrated with it though cause it like you say not as instant!! everyone- thank you again for the compliments...I will give them..I just gotta put them rings on there. How in the world do you guys hold the iron, the wire, the loop and the solder all at the same time??????????????????

Georgysmom, we did think of Marki after the Hallmark suggestion. :) I do tend to prefer names that end in a "ee" sound. I feel like they respond better or it rolls off the tongue more smoothly. She's a very, very chill little girl. I usually like to see their personality a bit before pick out a name. Yesterday I had her and the mom in the barn in the morning and set down two bins of hay for the mom. The baby went and laid down around the far bin where the mom couldn't see her. Butter was SCREAMING for her baby and the baby just laid their quiet. I kept repeating to Butter that the baby was right there, but she didn't get my words and pointing gesture. Finally fed up of her freaking out I went into the pen, picked up the bin and set it on the other side of the baby. LOL If that wasn't bad enough, I let the two of them outside with the rest of the crew late afternoon. My husband was bringing them in and Butter once again starts freaking out and screaming over and over again for her baby. The baby was right behind her and didn't make a peep. Haha This darn girl is already torturing her mother.

For our fiftieth, hub and I made reservations for two at a very fine restaurant. One of our daughters came to see us off and casually asked where we were going. We told her. When we arrived at the restaurant the owner seated us, presented a bottle of champagne, and told us dinner was a gift from our children. It was a very lovely surprise. The next night, they hosted another surprise party that included friends and family. The pictures from that are priceless. Our children made an album of our fifty years together. We don’t need any baubles or more things. The album is a true treasure. Keep your gift simple and meaningful. They will love it .
