Transferring Indoor Potted Veggies to Outside

Allen Mercer

This year, for the first time ever, I've decided to start a garden. I'm growing Basil, Hot Peppers, Chives, Catnip, Beets, and Cilantro. I started my plants in pots in a spare bedroom last week. The beets and cilantro are already sprouting. My problem is this: I live in Buffalo (Zone 5), so I'm afraid to put the plants outside yet. However, I have a lot of pots, and I'm afraid that they won't get enough sunlight inside. Should I move them outside, or leave them inside, or just try again in a couple of weeks when it gets warmer. I have no idea if young plants need light at all, or if they can take temperatures under 45 degrees. I have no idea what I am doing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Allen
