Comments (5)Holy Cow sumala , those are unreal! I am on my knees, can you spare a slip from one of those fruits so I can start that variety. Its my firm belief that no matter how good you feed a cherry tomato, it will always be a cherry tomato size, never a beef steak. Same for a dachshund etc.... in other words, a good plant variety that is able to produce large fruit is a MUST if you want large fruit. Pretty please!!!!...See MoreSorry off topic just gotta rub it in a little
Comments (12)As Bob shared the Forum previously was more strict than it is today, and we have no active moderator so we have to monitor ourselves. If we fail to keep postings on-topic over time the Forum would become diluted, or could become more of a social site. This is one of the reasons the separate Conversations side was created some years back. Our continuing effort to stay on-topic goes hand-in-hand with other accepted ideals as to participation; i.e. to avoid chat room formats by keeping information together on an existing thread rather than starting a new thread with additional input, and not hijacking a thread into a different direction. Though admittedly at times a thread does take on a life of its own. I am a member of a couple of computer help forums where the off-topic area is more active than the computer dedicated area. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that as I do like stopping in on occasion and sharing a few moments, but if you lumped both together the computer help would suffer, and that is why we are here. Comments (103)I hope you won't shut up and knuckle under, Bart. Sounds like you came from an intolerant background. But you all do sound like an echo chamber. Guess it's nice to have common values. I think I value human rights too. Maybe re the bathroom issue human rights trump people's comfort zones, but I think forcing people on this issue is itself intolerant. People change gradually. IMO gradual change can be more lasting and more valid as it may come from the heart. Sometimes maybe there is not time to wait around for that. It's debatable. IMO Martin Luther King had it right as he didn't demonize anyone. He treated people like he wanted them to exist, to be around, to contain a different attitude and to relate to better to. Not to pound into oblivion, shame into like mindedness, trivialized, etc. IMO race relations and acceptance of gays got a lot better through the last half of the century and beyond. I think it came from the heart. From just living, discovering friends, finding that relationships were valuable, people who used to live more apart could work together. I know I took joy in it. The demonizing and force work against all that. The appropriation of identity politics issues. Some do it in a cynical way I believe....See MoreI’m sorry, a mattress thread (winkbed?)
Comments (23)I’ll check back nini! It’s so frustrating deciding on a mattress. If my husband wasn’t getting impatient I would have did a bit more looking. I like almost everything the Saatva luxury firm has to offer but ideally I would like all that except the memory foam middle layer. I could be wrong but even companies claiming high quality memory foam have problems with some sagging over time. Memory foam tends to flatten out in areas you sleep. It may be more affected on the side a heavier person is. Since that layer looks rather thin in the middle of the Saatva‘s interiors photo’s I think it will be fine. Don‘t even get me started on all the research involved in choosing a quality Talalay 100% natural organic latex topper. I almost went with one company that claimed there were zero chemicals used and was a hundred & seventy five more. Come to find out, even with certified mattresses they are not a 100% free of chems but close at over 96%. While the mattress/topper is natural, they have to be treated somewhat for shipping. Anyway, my poor husband has to put up with me doing my best. I need support and a supported edge but my tail bone was broken twice as a kid so need some relief there, and there‘s also other issues like fibromyalgia, arthritis and some new undiagnosed things going on. Those are bad days, the rest of the time I’m dandy : )...See Moreplays_in_dirt_dirt
