Gas Ranges: 24' Bertazzoni vs 24' Fisher Paykel
Comments (0)I'm trying to decide between these two ranges for my new kitchen. I find the Berta more attractive, but I'm concerned about the AJ Madison reviews which mention 1) a faulty thermostat that can't easily be fixed and 2) hot air that blows into the kitchen. I've read the Berta reviews on GW but nobody seems to mention these problems - has anyone experienced either? The Fisher Paykel gets stellar reviews on the AJ Madison site, but little seems to be mentioned here. Any happy/unhappy owners? As always, thanks for your input....See MoreHELP PLEASE New Dacor range to replace old DCS (Fisher Paykel) range?
Comments (1)Gosh that's really up to you. A sane person could come out either way there. However, if you think you might want to try something new, like induction for example, it would be a good opportunity....See More30" range: Bertazzoni vs Fisher & Paykel
Comments (9)I checked on the Bertazzoni site, and the basic 30" gas range (MAS30 4 GAS XE) and basic dual-fuel gas w/ electric oven (MAS30 4 DFM XE) both come with double oven lights. These basic models don't have a storage compartment under the oven, have aluminum burners, don't have any temperature gauge on the front (note that on the deluxe models, the needle points to PREHEAT, MEDIUM and HOT... not actual degrees). They also do not have a telescoping oven rack (available for an extra charge) and, most notably, do not have a self cleaning oven. What is strange about their pricing is that the all-gas deluxe model goes for about $3,300 ($700 more than the basic), yet the deluxe dual-fuel goes for a cool $4,000. If the basic gas and dual fuel ranges are identically priced, why would there be a $700 spread between the two deluxe versions? I can't believe it costs that much more to make a self-cleaning electric oven than one that runs on gas....See MoreBertazzoni vs. Fisher & Paykel Gas Ranges. 2019
Comments (81)After considering many high end ranges, I settled with a FP (48”). It was a nightmare. Long story short, the range came with a malfunctioning gas safety valve. After dealing with their New Zealand based customer service (which was not good) and having their local certified repair company attempt to fix it, it was still no good. After 6 months they finally tell me about a regional customer service manager in the area...not sure why they waited so long. He was good and was able to get me a new range. It’s the newest model and we just baked with it for the first time. It vents extremely hot air from the back vent when the oven is on....seems to be a safety hazard (see photo). It’s a good looking range, but I wish I had spent the money on something else....See MoreLars
