ID this striped pink climber?

Hello! I usually hang out over in the antique roses section, but I thought maybe this question was better for the larger rose group.

We saw this rose at the Tyler Municipal Rose Garden last weekend, and my husband (usually the stern rose traditionalist--go figure) was somewhat smitten. But, under that special subsection of Murphy's Law that applies to public gardens, of course the one we were most interested in was unlabeled.

Does anyone know what it is?

My first thought was that it must be a sport or seedling of 4th of July, but if so, it shed FOJ's wicked thorns along with its intense red coloring.

Thanks for any suggestions!
