Acorn Springs didn't impress me, so I encourage you to contact them over and over till they respond. They are great when you want to purchase! I ordered an olive tree, and instantly many leaves got brown tips. Some were yellow and fell off. I tried to reach them by phone and email. No response at all! I didn't even suggest a return. I just wanted to know what to do. On Garden Web someone suggested to repot, fertilize immediately, and so I did that. Took the poor thing to a nursery here in town and she told me what olives like. Whew!! Finally no more new brown tips, many leaves staying green, but no new leaves yet. Good luck!!

You don't prune citrus like other ornamental trees, db. Citrus bear their fruit on the tips of their branches, so if you prune those away, you're going to lose your next year's crop of fruit. And, as mgk65 suggested, do post your photos so we can see what you're trying to accomplish, and whether or not the tree needs to be in a larger container. Patty S.

I haveto agree with Jsvand here. I have done that same kind of pruning. Currently I have done this to one of my mango. It has been years since I have done this to a citrus tree. The end result was beutifull. I will say that it was kind of nerve racking for me because I have limited resources for any tropicals. The nice thing about most citrus is you see the result of the pruning faster then on some of the other tropicals(at least that is how it is for me.).My keylime that I tip pruned grew a ton of new branches. It seems like I am finding new growth daily and the bulk of it is on the main leader of the tree. I would say it didn't even take a full week and my tree is indoors under lights. I would just chopp it down maybe to 4 feet. Sounds drastic but I bet you wont have to worry about the grafting and once the new wood matures, you may end up with a more productive tree in the end. Maybe I can take a pic and show you. Right now I am not feeling so hot and I have a lot of Christmas stuff to finnish. I am tring to find a good website to purchase a nice Kumquat tree for my dad. Not easy to do when you can't have citrus shipped from FL,CA, or Texas! Andrew

Placing the pot on pebbles in a saucer will elevate the tree above the drainage area, and improve airflow and humidity for citrus. Misting citrus foliage with a simple spray bottle is another way to help citrus cope with insufficient indoor humidity in winter." If you have new leaves and new shoots it is really beneficial to mist those. Because of the VPD they loose moisture much faster than mature leaves. Flowers are also very susceptible to losing moisture and misting can help them set fruit.
