Stages 45 Sink Installed and LOVE it!
Comments (18)jkom51, idea came from ikeafans hacker forum, lol. can't take credit. rjr, i responded privately, I think. I love my faucet. The spring makes it fun to bounce around and clean up,the pullout works for ledge, and i haven't missed the sprayer function at all. Barbara, i do use the ledge. I've always wanted a place to put hand washed stuff. It was that or a dishrack or grooves in the countertop. I don't know if the 33 would be big enough. definitely consider the size of the bowl before making a decision. Thank you all for your comments! Lisa - still loving it a week or 2 later,lol....See MoreKohler Stages Sink: review after 6 weeks of use
Comments (38)Holly - I had exactly that issue. The good news is that it was easily solvable. When I realized by cutting board, etc. didn't fit, we called the granite installers. The woman on the phone said we should call Home Depot. ??? So we talked to her boss and he sent out the guys to have a look. The Kohler sink is long and likely to get a bow in the long side somewhere along the way. They saw exactly what the problem was and fixed it by gently and progressively wedging a padded 2x4 or two across the width all along the long sides. I think they had to release the silicon on the one side to make this work. Essentially they were pushing the bow back out to straight to get back to rectangular. It didn't take long, less than 1/2 hour from beginning to end, and nothing was damaged. All fixed and good as new. Love this sink....See MoreYet another Stages 45 install + questions
Comments (1)Even though we are not "really tall', I was 5-10 and wife 5-8, we did our counters at a higher than "Normal" installation. We did that in 2006 and we still love the "elevated counters". For one thing, since we went with an under counter oven , we were able to raise it up off the floor about 6 inches and this really makes accessing the oven much easier, we are both in our 70's. We have a Kohler double porcelain sink, one side has a large cavity and the other, (where the garbage disposal is) is smaller. We really like it and both sides drain very well, and always have. We always take care to run the garbage disposal long enough for what was in it and plenty of water too~~~we have never had a stopped up drain in the almost 40 years we've been in this house. Congratulations on yours and I'm glad everything worked out well, for you! Gary...See MoreShould I give up the Kohler Stages 45 for a better kitchen layout?
Comments (24)I have heard that sink mentioned many times on this board but I actually looked at a YouTube video on it just now. No wonder you want it Mrs. Pete! i don't have much to add except to say that my kitchen in my house before this house had a setup a lot like your new house with the peninsula. I loved that kitchen. The corner between the sink and the dw was accessed from the other side of the peninsula. I kept linens, etc. there. the only thing between my sink and my dishwasher was a single trash pullout (same side as dw) whereas yours is right next to the corner. Does that make sense? It worked out very well. I stood to the left of my dw, in front of my sink and filled or emptied my dw and most of my dishes went right into uppers above on the wall to the right of my sink. I don't think you can have it so close to the corner, but that single trash pullout cabinet I had wasn't very big. It worked out well. frankly, it was a better setup than what I have now with my big sink and dw on my island as far as convenience. It sounds like you are worried about not having enough kitchen drawers if you go with this sink. if I remember right you have a large pantry that you could perhaps customize for some of your needs? I have pegboard that I use to hang a lot of my pots and pans. Will you have plenty of uppers?...See Morelawjedi
