I have done many of these interactive murder mystery games. Some are very good and some can ruin a party. There are a few things to look for...  Scripts to read are a party staller  Murder that takes place at party is more fun  Games that come with money and secrets are always great as they allow for blackmailing, extortion etc... by the guests.  Games where your only agenda is to solve the murder are pretty boring. You need sub plots going on to make them fun.  Well crafted characters are important. If a games character is listed in a few lines then it is a bad game. With a good game your party will be talked about for months to come and everyone will want to know when you will be having another one! the boxed sets can be fun, but there are others out there that are 10 times the fun of those. We played a Tailormademysteries game once and it was not fun at all. I would not recommend them. Here are the 2 game suppliers I would recommend that were a success at our parties. These were a lot of fun to play, but the 2 we played both had drug themes which we did not care for, but they were still very well written and everyone had a good time in spite of that. The newest we found that was a whole lot of fun was from Dinner and a Murder Mystery Games - http://www.dinnerandamurder.com/scripts/ The game was a 1920's gangster game for 12-20 people. It really was a blast. They say they will be adding new games every month and plan on doing some kids and teen games in the near future, so if anyone enjoys these I would keep my eye on them. Thanks, everybody. Finedreams and Tenderchichi,, Yes, I know it sounds unbelievable, but it is true. I'm very sure she has some type of mental illness or personalty disorder. Like many people, she is functional enough to carry it off. Remember, she was a small town housewife and not out in the world much where she would have been noticed as weird or crazy by the public. My dad covered for her a lot. Yes, she was that way to all of us chidren and we all moved as far away as possible when we were old enough. And that contributed to us not knowing how bad things really were until the caregivers told us. Her dementia is just now onsetting, she knew exactly what she was doing five years ago. Because of the age difference, she somehow convinced the doctor not to tell my dad he had cancer. That is unethical but they live in a very small town and things are done kind of differently than in a large city. No, there was no autopsy, he died of his prostate cancer. At age 93, there would not be an autopsy unless the next of kin (guess who) or legal authorities wanted one. He did not die of her poisoning because we got that stopped when we found out. Yes, we confronted her. She was just astounded that we would think she did anything wrong. Then she got mad at Dad for "telling us lies". He never said one word. Thermometer, thanks for your condolences but I feel that you are negating what I know to be true. No, I don't have "displaced adoration" for my father. I said he was not perfect. And my anger toward my mother is very, very direct,I can assure you. The affair lasted 20 years, I was a witness to 18 years of it, and she incorporated me through intimidation as a young girl in helping her cover it up. I know what I heard and saw and I know what happened. The memory of my childhood is waking up in the morning and going to sleep at night with her screaming. Yes, to all, I am in counseling. Not only grief but anger counseling. I have lost more than my dad. My sister and I are very close but this has just been devastating for her, she is on Prozac now, and also in counseling. It is just going to take some time. Thanks.

Well, I don't mean to open a whole other can of worms, but I am offended at the inference that only not-so-intelligent, non-math-and-science-whizzes believe in ghosts. I consider myself fairly intelligent, and I have seen a ghost. My son is much smarter than me, and he has too. He can tell a story about seeing our resident ghost (where we used to live) that can make your hair stand on end. I absolutely believe him - he is a no-nonsense both-feet-on-the-ground 24 year old man.

However, the very wealthy man who drove while intoxicated and killed three young children and their grandfather is out on $1 million bail and is to be sentenced later this month: "Muzzo was driving an SUV that collided with a minivan carrying six members of the Neville-Lake family on Sept. 27 in Vaughan, just north of Toronto. Daniel, 9, Harrison, 5, Milly, 2, and their grandfather, 65-year-old Gary Neville, all died. He pleaded guilty Thursday at a Newmarket courthouse to four counts of impaired driving causing death and two counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm. The 29-year-old was released on a $1-million bond with strict conditions. He is due back in court for sentencing on Feb. 23 and possibly Feb. 24."
