WANTED: Teacher Neeing Plant help
Comments (5)I have a couple sedums you might like. I have autumn joy sedum and dragon's blood. Dragon's blood blooms and turns from green to a dark color, almost red. If there's anything on my list you'd like for your classroom just ask. I teach recycling to kids and we do hands on projects like making a plastic pop bottle into a lightning bug with a glow stick. It's fun to watch the kids get excited, make connections and ask questions. Heidi...See MoreHydrangea-like flower but bracts like Oregano 'Kent Beauty'?
Comments (5)Hi & welcome to Gardenweb. The missing pic is not your fault, just a quirk of the system. After you've browsed your pic, then click preview, the picture info is no longer in the browse box. So if you edit your comments and click preview again without RE-browsing your pic, the pic is not included. So you can click back to edit, or re-browse your pic. When you're ready to click submit, if the pic is not on the screen, it won't be in your message, browse again to include....See MoreI REALLY NEE DHELP. THE LOSS OF MY DOG IS KILLING ME
Comments (38)There is only one thing I'd like to add regarding the about the Story that started this thread. It looks like it's been 7 years so some of the pain has subsided as far as the shock which we just experienced with losing our Dog just days ago. I have depression, ringing in the ears, vision issues, all from the stress. All the advice here was better than i can offer as far as dealing with the guilt and the loss. My issue is the comment about the care while his Dog was in the care of the Vets. First off-the cost. We spent 1400.00 so they could screw around and lie to us about the possible results of meds, therapy, blah blah blah while the dog we loved struggles for every breath from the stage 4 heart failure. It didn't take a genius to see He was dying on the table. I was not happy as far as everything being so expensive and just the lack of common sense that you'd expect from someone in that profession. I t seems like it was all about the money first. They want you to go out and adopt a Pet but they make it so unaffordable that few actually can. I hope everyone here has found a little peace but I know it will never be the same. I wish there was some way to make these situations better but I've got nothing....See MoreNees help siting 'Plum Passion'
Comments (4)Oh, no hassle transplanting. You will not be the first person or the last person on this planet that has to transplant a hydrangea into another spot. Just try to move as much of the root ball and the surface roots as you can and keep it moist starting the day before the move. Dappled sun or bright shade all day does not sound bad. I have several shrubs in bright shade. And two hours of sun does not sound like a problem either; the caveat with that one is if it gets afternoon sun in the summer months of Zone 9, in which I would say limited hours m-a-y be ok but you will have to try it and see how the leaves react. Leaves in contact with the sun will turn yellowish if this turns out to be too much sun while the other leaves remain dark green. Another problem with too much sun can be that the leaves dry out if it is sunny, hot and windy; they will start browning from the edges inwards. Blooms too can suffer and brown out prematurely. Yes, the more sun it gets, the more bloomage but placing it in bright shade does not mean that it will produce only one bloom or something like that....See MoreJannine
