Comments (17)Thanks. That last one of the King Vulture was a cheat. I tried several times to get a good picture of the bird in the enclosure, but the fencing was in the way, and the bird kept moving. So instead I took a picture of the large poster of the bird on the information sign right outside the enclosure. Its similar to this picture of a poster in the Iguassu Falls gift shop, where there was no way for me to get the shot without taking an expensive helicopter ride. Comments (8)Making a "theme" from Bahamas, and animals in a zoo, and maybe some color run. In the Ardastra Zoo in the Bahamas, one of their featured attractions is a "precision marching drill" of flamingos. The birds enter the ring and all walk in one direction and then turn a walk the other way. 11 years agoGazania, our (summer) home is about an hour from Pittsburgh. We rarely get to the city to enjoy its offerings.
This is the dark pink phase of a confederate rose flower, actually Hibiscus mutabulis. It starts out as a white flower, turns pale pink then dark rose before it withers.
