About 10 years ago when I lived in OH, I was gifted a large trash bag full of mature, in-foliage L. squamigera bulbs that were dug the day before, as little root disturbance as possible in that situation, meaning that the roots were still there but most of the dirt had fallen off. I did get some blooms later that same year, and plenty the following year. These are big bulbs, if what one gets through mail-order aren't huge bulbs, I'd say they are just not mature yet. I have bushels of L. radiata at this house, in the lawn. I've been digging them up and moving them to beds here & at my Mom's house. Most of this was done last summer, and most didn't get re-planted for about a week. Very few blooms on these moved bulbs but they are growing foliage well this spring. We'll see in the fall how the bloom show goes. Sounds like these bulbs, unlike many others, are definitely not blasé about spending time out of the ground, need to be replanted ASAP.

I was peri-menopausal at 35ish...went into menopause naturally at age 38. I'm now almost 43 and things are kind of getting better. I took an over the counter supplement off and on for a few years...and that helped a lot. I think it's just a wait it out game. I've also dealt with the libido issue. Mostly I'm self-conscious because menopause took away my waistline and gave me a spare tire. That's been a big adjustment. I swear I'm going insane because of the memory loss! However, I'm finding that the fog is beginning to lift ever so slightly.... Your body is going to do what it has to. Things will settle down eventually. Until then try to explain to everyone, and yourself, that this is temporary. Your 'regular' self has gone on a vacation and someone you don't know is filling in....it is temporary! Patience is the key!

We're both in our early 50's and been married 22 yrs and it's probably a 2 for both of us and I'd say we both are still quite attracted to each other, in fact for us, that's probably what kept us together thru the bad times( of REALLY getting to know each other). It's the 2nd marriage for both of us. We had kids with the first marriage and decided none together.(Which is good, cause the first 1/2 of our marriage WAS rocky and I would have left him if I'd of had babies that would be exposed to that degree of fighting and tension). And yes, the frequency does wane some, but the enjoyment is still as good as in my 30's. FOR TRACYMOMOF4: I'd be concerned. Is he still affectionate? Hug and kiss some, snuggle at night? Could it be he's afraid of back trouble? Or with some guys, a few times with erection problems sets a pattern psychologically. You can buy viagra on the internet &/or you could ask the doctor if it would be safe for him. It's only rarely that someone can't use it. For you,37 is way too young to be cut down to 1/mo. Was he more arousable and interested prior to surgery? Or could this be the way he always has been? Too, some guys sneak porn(magazines or XXX motels) to have a safe outlet(a hand job)when they don't have a woman, and find they go back to it in trying times and sometimes even prefer it because of the sneaking and naughtiness to it. I to thought that my mom and her mom would be an indicator of what I might face with menopause but they weren't. Grandma had a hysterectomy and mom had six kids. I have none. Mom's lasted about 10 years, hot flashes real bad and just couldn't make sound decisions. Very moody as well. For me, 50 today, last period a year ago. Hot flashes a few times a day but the thing that bothers me most is the mood changes. I have always been a pretty even keeled kind of person. Mom always called me laid back Laura. Stress never got to me before but now, I have a real hard time with it. Fortuneately I work with men, my husband being one of them and a our boss is a friend I've known for 20 years. I've always been able to be brutally honest with him and if I'm having a bad day, I forwarn him and he keeps his distance. Leg cramps have also been real bad since this all started. Fortuneately I can control it to some degree with supplements of calcium/magnesium along with black strap molasses.
