My guess is that he will be using Cover Stain as most painters love this stuff since it's fast drying. Problem is that because it's fast drying, it's not a good choice for exteriors since it will get brittle and fail much faster than a medium or long oil primer that dries slower. If he hasn't started yet, I would ask him to use BM's Moorwhite primer. As for an additive, there is no silver bullet you can add, that's what the paint is for. MoorGlo is among the best -two full coats plus the primer should yield years of service.

Yes, you should be able to chew the painter out in front of anyone. The problem is that there are some out there that are pigs and it will only cause more trouble to do so in front of their son. Seems to me your painter could fit into the pig category. Of course, this shouldn't be the case but it might have helped that the kid wasn't present and your dh or other contractor do the fussing. Right or wrong sometimes doesn't matter. In the end, you wanted them to do a better job and if he is a pig that doesn't want a woman telling him what to do then it would probably make matters worse rather than better. Having said that, I know what should be done but I would have tossed that pig out on his curly tail. I never back down, even when I probably should, and being that I am a large woman 6' tall, I usually get my way. Dh just shakes his head when he sees that light in my eyes and my walking off with that look. So you see, I don't fault you but at the same time I do understand your dh. If you're referring to WOCA Wood Cleaner (http://www.wocadirect.com/wood-cleaner/), it should be used before the initial oiling and can be used before subsequent re-oilings. The name is a bit misleading but thankfully there are ready resources these days to find out what a product is for and how to use it. Even then it can be a bit confusing, like when using the Rubio site to determine how to treat your worn floor. Then my Rubio rep. nonchalantly told me ignore all the website instruction, mix the Soap 100:1 in a spray bottle, mist and mop, re-oil the floor every year or two with the same oil as used to finish originally. I'm loathe to admit that my one year old Rubio White oiled floor has only been vacuumed, never mopped. Twice I bought and mixed the Soap and ended up giving them to a customer. I'm an oil convert, as long as people don't mind taking on a little extra maintenance. While spray painting a paneled wall, blasts of air loosened my floor masking. By the time I finished, paint had dried. I carefully scraped, cleaned with some lacquer thinner, sanded with 120 grit paper and re-oiled. It looks flawless. With a poly finish this mistake could have been a disaster. Bona does have a product called Natural Oil Floor Cleaner. I bought one to test but haven't had a chance yet. I'll use it on a showroom floor or my own home rather than a customer's floor. Hello, first of all I have SW Pure White on my cabinets and it is definitely a nice white but not as creamy as you think, it reads "pure" white. The inspo pic looks much like a greige, here are a few suggestions on the greige chart. Maybe Balboa Mist? I have classic gray on my walls and it is a warmer gray. I love it.
