Comments (2)Not sure if this is what you need - but someone on the Kitchens forum (sorry I don't remember who!) posted this when I was working on my kitchen:...See Moreneed large kitchen sink for 36" base cabinet
Comments (9)Thanks for all your suggestions. and Thank you EATREALFOOD: I am actually leaning toward the Franke Orca ORX110. It's gorgeous - if sinks can actually be gorgeous. I like the idea of being able to put a drainer or whater on one side when I need it and not have it there all the time so that i can still wash the large cookie sheets, roasters, etc. The interior at the largest point is 29.5 x 18.75 which I like. I also like the flow of the offset as it looks a little different than a single rectangle since hubby really wants his granite or quartz! now i need suggestions regarding which way to go with the stone countertops! i would either go for a treated granite (sensa) that doesn't need sealing for 15 years or the quartz. any advice would be greatly appreciated....See Morecabinets are in with a sink base mistake - need help!
Comments (12)Is the 33" refrigerator you looked at a counter-depth or standard-depth? If standard, that's probably why you think it's so big. Standard-depth refrigerators usually look like "big honkin' fridges" b/c they stick out so far past the surrounding cabinets & counters. A word of warning here...refrigerators less than 36" wide x 72" tall are becoming more and more difficult to find. Down the road when you need to replace that 30", it will not be easy. Personally, I recommend creating a refrigerator "alcove" that's 36" x 72" so you won't have problems in a few years when you need to replace the refrigerator. You can use filler around a smaller refrigerator if you want to stick with a small one for now OR you can create narrow broom closet in the "extra" space...get your 30" now and use that "leftover" 6" for a 6" wide broom closet/utility cabinet. Here's a link about a 4" broom closet...and you have 2" extra inches! Thread: 4" Broom Closet from Ikeafans Additionally, if you're planning to sell in the next few years, think about what will sell...a small refrigerator & no room to expand or a small refrigerator that a potential buyer can mentally replace with a larger, more standard, one? Sink....what sink are you planning to install in a 39" sink base? If you're short on counterspace, wouldn't a smaller sink be better? If you're getting a single-basin sink, then I think a 27" to 30" sink is plenty big enough (and it will fit in a 28" to 31" sink base...netting you 6" more of cabinet space and possibly 6" or more of counterspace.) If you stick with the 36" sink base and storage is at a premium (often the case in small kitchens), then consider a 3" filler pullout instead of 1.5" of filler on each side of the sink. A filler pullout fits b/w two cabinets and must be installed at cabinet installation, not later. Filler pullouts are attached to the side walls of the cabinets on either side of it. This means there are no cabinet walls to take up space so you get virtually the entire 3" to use for storage. Yes, there's a limit as to what can fit there, but it's certainly better than filler! Note that filler pullouts are available for tall, base, & upper cabinets...so you can use one wherever needed. Comments (20)Problem solved! (For me anyway....might work for you too though.) I called Franke and they confirmed with their warehouse that the sinks are branded with their logo on the INSIDE of the bowl, on the right hand side of the sink. The photos that show the logo on the apron front are old and they have not been making them that way for a while. If you get it from homeclick.com, there is a 10% off Franke coupon through 7/18: FRANKE10 that makes it $810. That's the best deal I can find so I'm going to get it from them. Hope this works for you too!...See Moremama goose_gw zn6OH
