33' Apron sink in 33' sink cabinet?
Comments (3)Many of the apron front sinks are handmade, and they will vary in size. Your 33" sink might be 32 3/4" or it might be 33 1/4". It's NOT a matter of a particular installer being knowledgable enough to make a 33" fit in a 33" base, although I wouldn't want someone who didn't understand how to do it to touch it. You can't make a sink that's larger than the base it's intended to fit in fit in that base! Yes, you can shave down 1/8 of the adjacent cabinet's face frame if you absolutely need to, but that won't give the sink enough clearance with the door and drawer of that cabinet. And you've generally got a DW on the other side, so no room to shave anything. If you are interested in a handcrafted sink, it would be best to order the sink first to be 100% sure of the exact size of that particular sink, and then make sure that you have plenty of wiggle room if you need it for one that is slightly larger---just in case you break that one and have to replace it down the road....See MoreCan I use a 33inch sink base for a 30inch SS Apron Front Sink
Comments (5)Did you order an apron front sink base or just a regular sink base? A regular sink base's doors are too tall for an apron front sink and when one retrofits an apron front sink into an existing situation, they usually eliminate the doors and put in a curtain under the sink. If you want a farm sink, and haven't ordered a farm sink base, then stop the order, pay any restocking fee, and get a farm sink base. In the end, it will be cheaper and look better than attempting to hack into a brand new sink base....See MoreApron sink doesn't fit in the cabinet base!
Comments (5)Hmmm. I've read about this problem before and people made it work. Where is the sink sticking? Just in one area that could trimmed out on the cab or is it just too big all the way around? If that was it, I'd probably go with the plywood...that would seem the easiest. Sorry you're having this glitch but hang in there!...See MoreApron Front Sinks ruining base cabinets?
Comments (8)I've got the Whitehaven and haven't noticed any issues with dripping. The front exterior of my sink doesn't get wet often/ever. With the depth and width of the sink, I don't have any issues with water splashing over the front exterior. I'd say, get the Whitehaven and don't look back - It's also an easy one for install because it is "self trimming" and covers the rough cuts in the cabinet....See Moredavidro1
