Suggestions for decorating around Anthropologie curtains
Comments (4)I've already ordered these, so as not to miss the sale price, but haven't put them up yet. I go back and forth as to whether they are beautiful and elegant in a funky kind of way, or ugly! I need color and wouldn't thrive with soothing, monochromatic decor. The current furniture is brown upholstered, but- I've mentioned this on other threads- we really need a new sofa and love seat, which wouldn't be a practical purchase right now. I always wanted a lighter colored, cream or light taupe-ish couch, not sure how that would go with these drapes. Thanks for the suggestion on looking for a multi-colored fabric for cushions. Stripes would be a nice counterpoint to this huge floral....See MoreStrategies to furnish a whole house? Furniture and more...
Comments (5)To me, it'd be a hard concept of getting everything at once, for various reasons (obviously money; but not only)..so if you're set on it, employing a designer might be a great idea Do you consider taking some of your most favorite, versatile pieces with you? I know I'm not really being helpful with suggestions. Just to add that Anthropologie (that has huge variety of furnishings of different styles right now; the quality will difffer though depending on who manufactured what..) has this useful thing with shipping and delivery-149$ I think for unlimited shipping and delivery. Obviously to encourage customers to get as many things from them as they wish. Delivery costs can get very expensive when it's a lot; so from that point of view, it's a great deal. OneKingsLane have a good variety by different brands; I've no idea on how it goes when one orders in bulk there...but it will have sort of a gathered look (as Anthropologie will too, because they also carry stuff made by different brands) But they are online store..even though I think they're opening brick and mortar store somewhere as of lately. They're very successful. Anthropologie will have some stores when you can try furniture, but not all of them. Which is a pity of course, especially when one is buying upholstery. Both are expensive, mostly. From your list: I heard good things about Serena and Lily, and Room and Board West Elm is overpriced for what they offer, if you ask me Ballard might be fine. Again, from my limited experience. In general, quality seems to go down lately, so, say, Pottery Barn several years ago was probably made better than Pottery Barn today..but the prices won't change/will go up I myself prefer to get as much as second hand/vintage as possible; splurge on new or custom when very important/making sense more. That of course takes much more time though, And hassle....See Moreanthropologie sofa quality
Comments (3)I will no longer look at anthropology items. I love the aesthetic but everything I have ever purchased from bedding to clothing to furniture has fallen apart before a year of ownership. My cheap Raymour and Flannigan sofas lasted over 15 years but my overpriced arm chair from anthropology tore at the seams after just months. My bedding fabric did the same. Pretty expensive for crap in my opinion....See MoreAre Anthropologie sofas good quality?
Comments (2)Thanks for sharing your experience with them @roarah. Thats what I was afraid of. Our discount would be nice, but my PB couch started falling apart after a few years and I don't want that to happen again....See MoreMtnRdRedux
