today I had a good day
Comments (1)You're killing me. I'm sitting inside a boring office with beautiful weather calling to me outside and you are playing in the garden. It's just not fair. Anyway, congratulations....See MoreToday was a good day...
Comments (8)bodhi, here's a link to some photos I posted on the day the countertops were installed. If you are looking for more photos, I can post more. My slab definitely has plenty of inherent fissures, most of them old (ancient?) because you can see recrystallization that formed along and within the fissures. The vast majority of them are not a problem and actually lend to the beauty of the piece with all the lines and veinings. I believe this particular fissure was just in a bad spot, forming a nice corner. They did not have any problems with it during fabrication or installation and it was a part of the countertop I kept my eye on just because the fissure was so prevalent. I'm guessing that when the stone came to room temperature (and being located just above our DW -- some bit of heat?), it just cracked. FYI, I'm in central NY where outside temps have been 20-35 degrees lately. Anyway, good luck with your counters! I can't wait to see finished photos... super whites are so pretty!! Christine... the weekend will be here soon enough. I struggled with my wall colors, too... but going into BM store and speaking with their color consultant was the best thing I ever did. After 5 minutes, I was done (probably exhausted from making decisions at that point, too!)! Here is a link that might be useful: Countertop installation...See MoreI finally had a good day today
Comments (14)It went from Live Oak to Tallahassee, with lots of nothing between, typical yard sale stuff. In town they had it in 3 parking lots, that was the more expensive items or dollar store type things. I went back today (alone) since other places joined in. I got a pair of shoes, a small wooden table, a ziplock bag full of thread and some other small stuff. The table stand looked like junk and I itched all the way home (bugs/spiders) but it cleaned up real nice and looks worth something now. I did it the fast way with Old English Scratch cover. I may paint it one day but its fine for now....See Morea good day in the garden
Comments (4)I always say even a bad day in the garden is better than a good day at work... hang on, I took early retirement last fall and can't say that anymore :-)...See More- 9 years ago
