Sue, I'll step up and say that I'm right there with you on the duvet issues!! Yeah, they look pretty in the website photos, but in real life they always look lumpy and messy. Also don't enjoy changing out a king size one. It is very hard to find good quality quilts with nice colors/designs and a nice weight to them. I returned some from the company store because they were too thin and light.

Yes!! I have three, but I never knew what they were called. Mine are much more muted colors than the ones shown in the blog. I stumbled on the first one about two years ago at my favorite furniture and accessories haunt while vacationing in AZ. It was way overpriced but gorgeous and I had never seen anything like it. The saleswoman told me they were starting a sale the next day, and gave me the 25% off. Fast forward about 1.5 years, and there they were at West Elm, for a quarter of the price. I bought two, figuring I was "averaging down" my cost per quilt. A sound shopping strategy, right?? Here is a photo of one of the West Elm ones, over the back of the chair. The raspberry color is brighter and prettier than the pic shows. They're very soft and durable.

Your look IS modern farmhouse/boho. Boho is short for "Bohemian" which is an eclectic patterned colorful look like the pottery from Bohemia in Czechoslovakia. I'm not even sure what "modern farmhouse" is for a reference, but the emphasis seems to be on monochrome blacks and whites and splashes of whimsy and color. You have all that except for the splash part, and this is up to you what you would find fun to put on the walls. The fireplace brick stands out somewhat discordantly, so I'd do a neutral light piece of art to cover up some of that checkered colored brick. Easy fix. I'd also replace the carved fussy doors on the cabinets next to the fireplace with something more angular and plain if I was obsessive about "modern" farmhouse. But the doors you have are perfectly "boho." The room looks lovely as is. Don't be so hard on yourself! Perhaps at some point the perfect piece of art may come along that speaks to you. Meanwhile you can maybe pick up something neutral and "modern farmhouse" at your local discount mart. Mine has lots of stuff like that in the home section. Placekeeper stuff. Inexpensive, big impact and then later when you have time donate to Goodwill and find that perfect piece at the antique store like Johanna Gaines does! OR, go to the local Goodwill and buy that piece that someone else just got rid of . . . .

Thank you Bumble, I got it on Etsy several years ago. Always wanted a 50’s look cloth but never found one that I would actually use, until that one surfaced. It’s in really good shape. I stretch and air dry it after washing to keep the fibers from bunching and the colors bright. I love your kantha too! One day I will find the perfect cloth for my blue and white table and I have always loved that elevated patchwork vibe.
