Couple of my babies blooming.
Comments (3)Ooh thanks for posting these pretty pics, Belinda! I got a little starter of Orchard's Bumble Magnet in the mail yesterday, so the pic of that one in particular is giving me something to look forward to as I stare at this little clump of leaves and whisper, "Grow!" :-)...See MoreCouples Baby Shower
Comments (4)How about some nice cheeses and crackers? I know it's not a meal time, but it's nice to have some relief from sweets, and many people cannot eat them. I would have some plain strawberries, too. Also -- it's none of my business, but please consider not calling it a "couples" baby shower. I think you mean that both men and women are invited, right? But you don't want the invitation to be unwelcoming or confusing to your single guests or married guests where only one of the couple can attend -- (or worse: suggest that there is to be some sort of adults-only activity for which couples are required! JK -- I'm sure no one would think that). It is also a little demeaning to both women and men to suggest that a shower is not appropriate or dignified enough for men to attend unless you attach some sort of modifier to it. You don't need to put anything on the invitation like "couples" or "coed" to indicate that it is not a women-only event. You wouldn't feel the need to write "couples barbecue" or "couples open house," would you? The names on the envelope will let the recipients know who is invited. Sorry about the rant!...See MoreAn 11 pound baby joined our family today.
Comments (27)ideefix, I am right there with you. That said, there is no dissuading them. They are older parents who are set in doing what they want to do. All I would do is offend them and I do love these very loving people. I live in the heart of the country where very strange names aren't that uncommon. We have lots of people with Dreadlocks and see names like 'River, Yuba, Canyon, Sierra or Tahoe'. (I can't even remember the *really* odd names I've heard!) In my experience, these kids often change their names when they hit their teens. I've seen it time and again. I know one 'Tahoe' who changed his name to 'Wyatt', his middle name. Then again, my oldest sister's daughter named her girls 'Rocca and Yarrow'. I could see 'Yarrah' perhaps, but it appears they have an 'O' fetish. When she was pregnant, Aimee and I were hoping they would have a boy and name him 'Almond'. Then they would have an Almond and Rocca. LOL!...See MoreCouple of questions re baby food
Comments (1)1. So far the only leafy green I've given is spinach, but I have wondered about lettuce. 2. The only food that really constipates my son is rice cereal, so we avoid that completely. I only give him bananas if I mix them with pears or apples and we've never had a problem with them. 3. I've never given prune juice, so I can't answer this question....See Moreprairie_rose
