GE Profile Induction Freestanding Range vs. Kitchen Aid induction
Comments (8)Sherean; I've had the GE Induction Range for about 6 weeks. Switched over from a Sears Smooth top range, with which I despised greatly. I grew up cooking with gas. I LOVE LOVE LOVE (did I mention I love this range?) this range. I will be redoing my kitchen this summer, we bought this range early b/c Sears had a fabulous sale in October (I got it for $2159). I also decided against wall ovens as I have a convection micro: that and the range provide plenty of oven space. I love the responsiveness of the burners (the middle warming hob is radiant, not induction, btw -- not a problem). The Convection oven is large, has worked wonderfully. The warming drawer was fabulous at Christmas -- we had many people over 5 hours and it really worked well at staging the biscuits and meat. The rangetop is a joy and soooo easy to clean, compared to that #$^%%$# smoothtop that is sitting in my garage. My only complaint thus far is that fingertips show easily on the control panel - but disappear easily with a microfibre cloth. Oh, and the timer has a weenie beep, compared to the ^%$^&^%$%% old smoothtop. I bought a Circulon Infinite set and a Henckels International Classic Clad. I have been very pleased with both sets. One word of warning, it took 3 delivery dates to get the range, it was delievered 6 weeks after I bought it. Plan accordingly. Here's a link where I have 2 posts discussing more about the range. Good luck and Bon Appetit. Rita Here is a link that might be useful: more comments on GE Induction...See Moreinduction range - ge phs920sfss vs elux ei30if40ls
Comments (18)I ordered an Electrolux slide in induction earlier today to replace my GE smoothtop radiant slide in that is only 4 years old. I had no problems with it, and really liked the oven, and I guess the cooktop was as good as smoothop radiant cooktops can get, with a bunch of options like bridge, multi tier burners, and a warming zone. But after I tried induction, I was hooked. I assume the oven will be equally great in the Electrolux but I'm not as worried about that as the cooktop since I have a separate KitchenAid wall oven with steam assist that I really like. I went with Electrolux over GE for a few reasons: -I was able to get a killer deal that was not staying around for long, and I couldn't get on GE -I liked the Wave Touch controls and overall look on the Electrolux better -For some reason, this GE range, which costs over twice as much as the basic smoothtop radiant, has a fraction of the convection cooking modes my current GE has. Looking at the control panel all the PHS920 can do is Bake, where my current GE can do Bake, Roast, Proof, and Warm. I used all those modes. Not that big a deal, and nobody needs those modes, but why would they DOWNGRADE the features? Electrolux has all those modes and more. -Electrolux wall ovens and induction cooktops get such great reviews. I just can't imagine how they can screw up a combination of them. I did see SOME positive reviews, which give me hope. I will be sure to let this forum know if it turns into a disaster. In the meantime, anyone want a great deal on a good looking, 4 year old, feature packed, well taken care of GE slide in with radiant smoothtop and convection oven? :)...See MoreGE Induction Range Problem

Comments (9)Update on our range. I have had this for over 6 months. I’ve never gotten used to the steps on the induction cooktop. There really needs to be a step in between the current 2 and 3, 3 and 4 and maybe 4 and 5. Our bigger issue is that I have had trouble with the convection fan. After a period of time, it warps and begins to hit the side of the oven. I’ve had the fan replaced twice. Two of the service calls resulted in a new fan. The third service call resulted in the repair person hooking up the range to the computer, and telling me nothing was wrong. The reason this was an issue was because the problem is often intermittent and during this service call, the fan was playing nicely. I am glad I purchased an extended warranty, as I will probably have to use it....See Moreblubird
