Comments (3)The trouble with the Crinum suggestion IMO is that Crinums are stay at homes, do not disturb, and the Irises multiply enough to need thinning (in some places, though not all). I'm wondering if Iris xiphium (Spanish iris) might do better in your version of z7. The Dutch and English ones tend to need a temperate climate otherwise they fade away after a year or so. Continantal extremes are generally just too much. As for the bulbs in the fridge, go on. Plant them. They'll probably be fine. And try the Crinum experiment. Comments (6)Isn't it funny how different things grow well in different areas? I have had Dutch Iris bloom for 10 years, but tulips are usually annuals. I can't grow lupines at all. I do love the iris though. Dutch Iris give a lot of bloom for much less cost that TBs do. kay...See MoreDutch Iris
