Karen... That falcon has been hurt...either shot with buckshot; attacked by another falcon/predator or flew into something impenetrable. From the pattern of blood spots on his breast...I'd probably opt for buckshot. Breaks my heart to see a bird in this condition but falcons and hawks aren't always appreciated by farmers and the like. In any case...if you frequent the area where you took this photo...keep your eyes open. Depending upon what caused his wounds...he may become unable to fend for himself...becoming more visible than is healthy for him [or perhaps dying] until any missing wing feathers fill in. I, personally, would love any follow-up you might get regarding him. They're such beautiful birds. Anne

I've also got Flamingos, from a visit to the Ardastra Zoo in the Bahamas. One of the attractions at the zoo is a demonstration of flamingos doing "precision marching" drills. To me though it merely looked like when the trainer yelled and waved his arms, the flock would all walk away from him.

Tony has never caught one. Our lanai has vinyl and screens. He jumps and tries to grab the lizards, but cannot get through the vinyl and screen. Still, the idea is in his head that it might be something new to play with other than his toy mice!

I want to post a pic that a friend of mine took. She's a pet photographer and really has a knack with getting the animals to do what she wants them to do. Split timing in getting them all to look at her at the same time, and take the picture. I think there might be some green in their eyes, for today's thread :-)
