Could really really use some tub surround advice
Comments (14)Yes! I love our gray porcelain 12" x 12" tile. It's imported Italian tile: Granitogres from Casalgrande (distributed by Daltile) in an oddly named color they call "Arizona," I believe. But it's a very hue-neutral gray--no brown or beige tones in it at all, contrary to its "earthy sounding" name. It's a beautiful, concrete-looking color with flecks of grays and white. Very modern-looking. If we're successful in matching the grout color, it'll look like a continuous, concrete-like floor from a distance. And, yes, I was initially attracted to solid-surface materials for the same reasons. Low-maintenance! It's a tough call, but I'm so happy with the Granitogres porcelain. I'm not a big fan of grout lines either, but we're jumping through hoops to match the tile color as closely as possible in the grout to achieve our desired aesthetic effect. If your heart's set on solid-surface, then by all means, get it. But, I think you have enough of an idea of what you want that you're likely to be pleased with whatever material on which you finally decide. Good luck!...See MoreDaltile 0100 white - how does it look with your white tub?
Comments (4)I don't have a direct answer but I do think that it becomes easy to start over thinking these things. I saw an apartment in Elle Décor or one of those magazines that actually had seven shades of white paint on the trim and walls in one of the rooms. The designer had done this on purpose and said that you really couldn't discern great differences between the whites and it just made things look a bit more dimensional. It looked that way in the photos, anyway: "white" not stripy or mismatched. If you think they both read as "white" and have a leaning toward one I would just pick the one you are leaning toward and call it done....See MoreAre Bosch Axxis-series washer/dryers' white, really "white?"
Comments (1)Haven't seen a Bosch in person yet, but a sales person over the phone just said they're very white. Whiter than the Askos, which he said are more bisque. I don't get the "hidden" door panels with Bosch, but I get white, and a much lower price than Asko or Miele. Hmmm . . ....See MoreIs White Eden really white or is it actually light pink?
Comments (18)Yeah, my Eden gets a bit of BS, but nothing it doesn't shake off fine here. I have him in really good sun now, because that also helped with the re-bloom. Mine looks so pretty right now! Last year he didn't even bloom because he got zapped so short by the polar vortex. I was afraid he might be Dr Huey. But no :) He's better than ever! I have Red Eden, too, and we're definitely humid here. Mine doesn't really ball, exactly, but his petals may need help opening. The thing is, the petals stay fresh and pretty, but he can just take forever to open. My Cinderella Fairytale and Cl Clotilde Soupert both have some real balling right now, where the petals turn icky in the ball shape, but my Red Eden just needed a little loosening with my fingers and he looks great :) I do believe he really balls in lots of places, no doubt. But for me, the freshness of the petals makes a huge difference here. I do love globular roses, though. He's about as globular as it gets, and that's part of his problem for some folks, I think! Without help opening, he can tend to look like a bunch of Christmas ornaments :D...See Morechispa
