looking for light pink or white geraniums
Comments (8)As far as white geraniums are concerned, the "best" one at the moment should be 'Coombland White', but it may not be so easy to spot... Other white/light pinks : - G. versicolor - G. asphodeloides - G. oxonianum Hollywood - G. oxonianum Walter's Gift - G. 'Sherwood' for a true change of flower shape ! - G. 'Winscombe' will produce flowers with all shades of white to light pink at the same time..very pretty too... All the above will row in a middle-size clup..For lower plants : - I second G. striatum, a cute little geranium indeed... - G. cinereum 'Ballerina'...See MoreYellowish white/off white and light pink HT roses for ID
Comments (5)Thanks petaloid. These roses were actually sold by a small sidewalk vendor who bought them from a friend who bought them from a florist who bought them from one of the cut flower farmers somewhere in Baguio City, Philippines. As you can see, the vendor herself or her friend or the florist or the contract farmers don't have any idea. She just calls them big 'pink'roses and big 'white' roses. I would really appreciate an ID from others even just a guess as I like to know the names of the roses I buy. I buy these same roses for my vases 1 to 2 times a week so I would really like to know what their names are, having lived with them for years. tropical...See MoreWhite tubs not really white?
Comments (11)I tend to agree with the others, trying to match ALL the whites can be a pyrrhic victory. Our current remodel had white tiles in both the bath/shower combo and on the bottom of all the other walls. White toilet, white tub, white grout. NONE match! The tiles seem to have this cool, grey cast to them, which I didn't even notice until it was done. Although I do not love the overall look, it's not really that noticeable and everyone seems to think the space looks great (certainly it's an improvement over the old space). What shade of grout in your room? I think a light tan or a light gray would help to minimize the difference between the tile and the tub....See MoreRed Eden, Pink Eden Any Advice?
Comments (24)My Eden, also own-root from Heirloom, blooms its heart out in Spring and has recently started repeating in a second large flush. The upcoming summer will be its fourth. You can see pictures of its second and third year on this thread: http://forums2.gardenweb.com/discussions/4601390/edenthe-low-down-dirty-detailspost-here?n=32 A few other things to consider would be: 1) as someone else indicated above, how is it situated? Does it get optimal sun? 2) How are you fertilizing it? Does it get too much nitrogen, which can cause lots of growth at the expense of blooms? 3) What is going on with your other roses? Do they all bloom as much as you would expect? Could there be rose midge involved? 4) Where did you get it? Could this be a clone that is virused? 5) How does it do for others in your area? Might this be related to the winter not getting cold enough for this rose to bloom really well? I hope you can troubleshoot it, because this rose is really a stunner once it gets going. Every year I tell myself I will get rid of it because it has no real fragrance to my nose, and every year it is more beautiful. I can't bring myself to dig it up. Good luck!...See MoreJasminerose, California, USDA 9b/Sunset 18
