Recently at the nursing home I noticed several people with bags on their wheel chairs like I've seen on walkers. I would think the men could help cut the fabric out of something that looked manly and surely there's an older lady there that sews and somebody may have a machine in their room or the activity department may have one. The bags looked to me like the base fabric was probably 1/2 yd (18") long and half of the width of the fabric(23"). There were 2 pockets sewn on each end by putting a coordinating fabric across the bottom. Probably 9"tall and 18" wide and sewn on the ends and in the middle. It had biased tape around all edges and two buttons and button holes so that it would fasten around the arm of the chair. Good Luck. Susan in Bama

Gee, I posted yesterday and it isn't up there! Mary, I don't have a creative bone in my body so I thought I'd come up with an original idea. LOL! Should've known you talented people would already be making them. Flamingo, I did look up the instructions you kindly sent, but it may have just as well been written in Greek. I look in awe at all the pretty things you make and the gorgeous material you use. I really admire all of you who make all the neat stuff you post pictures of. You're so talented! Love the idea of a new use for all those plastic grocery bags. I wish I could sew. I'd make cushion covers for every season--and wouldn't have so many pillows stuck in the closet! I also said in my vanished post that I love Wanda's couch!!

Like everyone else, I love buttons...... In another life - I was the Notions and trim buyer for the large Fabric store where I was the manager. The owners used to buy the buildings that huge grocery stores had been in - just to give you an idea of the size of the stores - 1971-the beginning of the superstores except these stores were privately owned. Back to buttons. I was the "buyer" for 5 stores - Buttons were my favorite- sitting down with Mfr reps & picking out individual styles & lines of buttons~I was in heaven, but too young to recognize it ~LOL~ So yes, I love buttons...... Recently, I saw watch bands made of buttons - they were beautiful. Good-fun activity for kids - small and quick project. Enjoy your button stash - great purchase your parents made :)

But that wouldn't work on my DH's Ugg boots because he has holes in the toes of both of them and the dust bunnies could escape out the holes and we're back to where we started. and he won't let me throw them out because he likes them like that....says it allows a little ventilation in. Men.....go figure, eh?
