NEW: 'obf' christmas in 'july' sign-up
Comments (130)MARIE! I would love to come there this weekend! BUT, it would be 3hrs away from us and with gas prices, and me not working...... I've been job hunting, and there is not much here for my skills, seems most places want LPN's, RN's, and CNA's. Not MA's. And although the thought of staying home with my 3yr old son this summer is nice, it's just not in the finances. I am fighting unemployment right now, they don't seem to think my quiting my job to move to another state so that me and my then 2yr old son could be together with his Father and older brother is a good enough reason. Evidently, they feel that a 2yr old seeing his Dad 3 times over a 9 month period of time is plenty! I have a court date this Thur. AM. It will be a 3 way conf. call with the judge, my previous employer, and myself. I am getting pretty anxious about it and my tummy is in knots! This is the 3rd level of my appeal and I guess there is only one more level after this. I really thought that by the time this all came about I would be working, you can't even find jobs at fast food places with the college kids home right now, and of course if the pay doesn't cover the cost of daycare and gas there isn't much sense in it. But ya never know, if it goes my way I might be able to talk Jamie into it, he keeps asking what I want for my Bday on friday and it is going to be the big 4-0 So I should get something special!! Of course I was thinking along the lines of a load of dirt and a trip to the local nursery LOL! BTW, do you think you could save me some of those tangerine coneflower seeds this fall? They are beauties! Also....I think you will make a fine hostess!! Like Remy said, you already came up with a great name! Remy, Wow, what a trip, I did some searching around here but haven't found a daylily farm yet! Got to go renew my Drivers Lic and get another beautiful DMV photo taken! Take care girls! Comments (150)Hi everyone. Hope you are all keeping warm. I have to admit, we haven't even really seen winter at its worse, but already I am sick and tired of snow. I am seriously considering moving somewhere where there is no snow. I can always come back to visit. All the boxes are great. Love to hear what everyone has sent and the enthusiasm of the recipient. I agree Shirley, it's like Christmas. Speaking of christmas. My tree is still alive and going strong. I put it outside in the stand, of course the water is frozen solid and under a foot or two of snow. We strung berries and oranges and nuts, pinecones slathered in peanut butter and then rolled in seed, all over the tree. The birds are going insane to say the least. I haven't wintersowed a thing. i decided this year i'll just go out and sprinkle seeds everywhere. i was getting prepared but then we got hit with the first snow and then the next one and then the cold and then more snow...so i said the heck with it. It sure is another cold one tonight. I think we are going down to about 9 degrees. guess i'll take that as opposed to minus any degree. hoping i will be able to join in february's swap. love the simplicity of it, but then i can execute on that...that's what craps me up with swapping LOL just an issue i need to get over. well, that's it for now. i have an early morning tomorrow. be well everyone, stay warm and remember....Spring is on Monday, 21 March 2011...56 days, 19 hours remain. maryanne p.s. mellen, i would love that website/link as well....See Morenew: obf's january swap: 'new beginnings'
Comments (116)Sue - as promised ~ and late ~ your package is on its way! Conformation #0307 0020 0000 4013 5339, hope you have it for the weekend :) Mellisa ~ Megin loved her surprise! She recieved shower gel, lotion, lip gloss and a foot scrubby. As for feeling bad about what you sent??? NO, don't even think that - everything is WONDERFUL! In fact, Megin is doing her best to take me into starting a new quilt with her this coming weekend out of the Mickey fabric... I keep telling her that we need to finish her cousins Easter one first. Her thinking is: cousin Jenni and cousin Kayla are both having babies this summer and we need to start on the baby quilts so that they have them when they are born in case the weather gets cold. LOL If that fails she wants a new robe from the pattern you sent - when I said that I didn't have a piece of fleece big enough she comes back with - it can be like Josephs coat of many colors, only a robe! Kids... gotta love'm! Stay warm everyone! Marie...See MoreOBF (Our Bloomin Friends) 2018 HOSTESS Sign Up LIst
