Comments (4)How are the long-leaves on the 50' fence different from the Siberians' foliage under the window? Taller? Does it seem quite different? They could be Spuria iris. Your terraced front looks terrific! I'm not acquainted with Bishop's weed but if it's too hard to eradicate by hand there are products that will kill foliage and roots --- Round Up is one. But any drift onto iris leaves will distort next year's flowers....See MoreTips for a beginner (bareroot)
Comments (7)chris should probably ship them dormant ... if so.. they can go in ther ground .. leafed out plants are NOT frost nor freeze tolerant ... so they should be protected please go to your members page and add your location.. else add it in every post ... in this case ... IT REALLY MATTERS WHERE YOU ARE ... if you want precise advise ... but.. even if they get frosted down .. odds are.. they wont die ... when i used to order hundreds of hosta every spring ... i would keep a wheelbarrow full of dampened media.. in the garage.. and plants were kept in it ...until they were properly hardened off .. and in the right stage of growth for the weather ... one key here.. is that hallson plants will not be cut ... and are field grown.. rather than greenhouse ... that means they should be in good shape for planting..not hothouse foo foo stock that will get the shock of its life.. when put outside ... also be aware.. since chris is just a few miles down the road .. ANYTHING can happen in MI this time of year ... if he gets buried in 4 feet of snow.. there may be a shipping delay .. lol... ken...See MoreBrown tips on snake plant??
Comments (9)When it comes to plants in pots, the grower's job is, to the greatest degree possible, to minimize or eliminate conditions that limit the plant's ability to realize its genetic potential - nothing more. Though necrotic leaf tips are fairly common, we shouldn't assume that it's a forgone conclusion this is an inevitability in sansevieria. It's not, but the potential causes are many, which in this case tends to relegate a diagnosis to the company of 'one guess is as good as another'. For instance, if you fertilized when it was below 55*, it could be ammonium toxicity. It could be due to a high level of salts in the soil solution, chill, under-watering, over-watering, fluoride toxicity, soil compaction, any combination of the preceding or cultural influences not even mentioned, ........................ Comments (2)Plant looks great to me. You will always have a few leaves die on you. Looks like it could use more sunlight. Not direct but if indoors, a sunny window. Doesn't have to be but it will give you maximum looks and growth. I would water it more and don't let it set in water. During colder months, cut back on the watering. Sounds like you are doing everything right....See MorePhoto Synthesis
