Hello Everyone, Evie, Thank you so much for all of the kind comments... You have hit the nail on the head!!! It is the toughest part of growing Plumeria during the rooting stage. We all cant wait to see what is happening, but we have to be patient and leave them alone. I know its hard to do, we are all guilty of peeking, but we all have learned to let them be...That is the best advice we can give you all!!! ALl of the Plumies have seemed to be fine now that i sprayed and the heat took its toll on the leaves..they all dropped and i lost more than normal. That Dr that looks like its sitting on a ball, well i truned it around today and i found a seedpod that had been hiding in the back of it..its huge!!! Not to be confused with the seedpod on the DR that is "mooning" everyone..LOL I did have a great friend that encouraged me to get the "nerve" to cut them back!!! So, i listened, and i 'm so glad i did. They have really filled out nicely and look very happy! Thanks for the encouragement!!! : ) You have a great eye on the Whelks!! I have collected them since i was a little girl. The larger ones at the bottom of the stand are over thirty years old...We do still find them here at the beach. But, not as plentiful as they used to be. You can still find them on the outer banks of NC and at certain times after a good Northeaster...i love to go and look for shells!!!! The J=105 is a beauty!!! I do have to agree with you. The blooms are thicker than any other and has a wonderful scent. Im so glad that it has finally bloomed. Dick - Scarecrow only has 10 to 11 buds per scape here. Jim Murphy told me he usually gets more than 10 on it and some southern growers have reported bud counts from 18 to the 20s from it. Scarecrow multiplies very rapidly, and I'm still growing it in a large pot. I hope to finally get it in the ground this fall. I expect it will have more buds in that situation. Sherry - Waves Become Wings is a beautiful, dependable Hanson late. I imagine it would grow even better in the north. The blooms have heavy substance and nice pink color that doesn't fade like others with temps in the high 90s. I'm planting Sunshine Bouquet this fall just to find out if it has those high bud counts. I will say on its first day to bloom it was a bad fader in this heat. It was hybridized in PA, so it probably didn't face the kind of July temps were have here on a regular basis. Debra

I tried that route years ago. Did not work well for me. Maybe if you rigged up a strap to keep it on or got one with a large bottom plate. My problem was the container barely fits on the truck. Three of my plants are in 20 gallon containers. I'm in construction and am pretty good at moving heavy things but its still tough. 2 of my plants I can not even lift and the other one is probably about 90 lbs. Plus I have two or three steps to deal with. Appliance dolly will not even do because the straps are not low down enough, need one with a strap way low. I'm sure I could fabricate up something but I just deal with it and drap the plants but getting up and down steps I have to tilt the plant more than I would like to plus they dont make these pots very easy to get a handle on. Cant lift from the top because the plant is taller than me and the smaller ones are still about 4 feet from the ground. Lucky its only twice a year although with all the rain I have been getting with lower temps (50's and 60's) I wanted to bring them back in but now they are soaked and probably weigh 20 pounds more. Thats why I think I'm going to set up a patio umbrella for them. Too much rain up here in MI this year.

Lynn, you are right, not all products are created equals. As consumers, we need to do a bit of homework to get the best for our money. The part I need to order more is Antelco Pressure Compensating Shrubbler which is offered at both DripWorks and DripDepot. At DripWorks, it's $0.99/each, sold in 100 pack. At DripDepot, the same brand part is $0.79/each if you order 10+. I don't think DripWorks offered free shipping while DripDepot offers free shipping for $49+ purchase. Drip Depot also has a store front on Amazon but because of Amazon overhead, they sell the same part for $1.29/each, sold in 10 pack with free shipping. For my case, I'll order directly from DripDepot and will make sure to order more than $49 to get the free shipping deal. Because of your environment, I guess you have a lot of experience with drip systems. Did you also do the same same drip system set up like pippa's or use multiple shrubblers for each rose? At Home Depot, there have different brands for drip systems, which brands offer good quality parts? I'm still new at setting up drip system so I apologize if it feels like I'm asking too many questions. I hope other newbies like me can learn from reading the answers. Thanks. Helen
