I had to work today but took the time to go walkabout at midday and again late afternoon to see what looks good and what needs work. Yanked a few weeds along the way and noticed some things blooming I hadn't seen before. Comments (2)Hi Junek, Welcome to the forum!! The plant in the top right of the forum page is actually aechmea fasciata. If you want to check on the fcbs website the link is below- http://fcbs.org/pictures.htm When you are there look to the left and click on aechmea then "F" then click on fasciata and see if that looks like yours. Keep watering when it is flowering but i do not see the need to fertilze as it is near the end of it's life. Some people do to produce more pups. Comments (3)Don't apply lime when you're applying nitrogen in any form (including organic) ; it can lead to chlorosis, preventing the plants from absorbing nutrients. I'd never heard that it can't be applied to frozen turf - everyone I know applies it in mid-winter. I don't use halts, I use corn gluten, a non-toxic alternative.
