I will let Jade answer in detail, but I believe any Crassula would benefit from as much bright light as you are able to offer it. They will become etiolated in lower light.

I would not call this species a jade, however. All jades are Crassulas, but not all Crassulas are jades.

I would assume it needs more light. As Chris said, as much as you can give it.

These benefit from early and regular pinching, eventually forming quite a nice canopy.

And they grow well (the best, really) in full sun, but make sure they're acclimated. If you have to bring it in for the winter, it would benefit from being outside in the summer.

Thanks guys. It gets as much sun as is available on a southern balcony in western Oregon, which isn't much in the winter. It is a very fast-grower, and all the leaves it has have grown since about November after I'd gotten rid of the mites. Maybe the new growth will look better since we'll have more sun.

I didn't know that about pinching this one, Josh. Thanks. It branches readily - almost anywhere I pull a leaf, or at least it DID until I treated it for mites. It's chopped off now though, so it's choice is to branch or die because all it is is a stem! Poor baby.

Christopher, of course you're right about the name. I bought this as a "jade," so I have always thought of it that way, but you must have some freaky voodoo power of perception because I reread my post, and I never actually called it a jade - so how'd you know? <...insert Twilight Zone theme music here...>
