One project finished

I posted a while back about the lack of storage in my tiny master bedroom. Several people suggested using a bachelor's chest as a nightstand. I looked at them, but couldn't find one quite the right size in my budget. (Side note: I bought the slimline velvet hangers for my closet, and they really do create more room!)

Then I remembered the small old dresser in my son's closet. I measured it and the size worked! I gave my son another dresser from the guest bedroom.

The dresser is an old hand-me-down, poor quality, but at least it is made from real wood. I gave it a little makeover, and it didn't turn out exactly how I wanted, but it's an improvement. I went with cream paint because I didn't want it to be a focal point, but now I kind of wish I'd done it in blue.

I am really looking forward to the additional storage. It looks like a tall dresser, but it's really only about 45' tall. Our bed is a pencil post with a very high mattress, so it will work as a side table.
