Importing Euro 220/240V 50/60Hz appliances

I posted the following in the general kitchen forum, then realized this was a more appropriate spot-

I know people here have imported appliances from Europe. I'm thinking about importing some modular cooktop appliances, all of which are listed as 220V/240V 50hz/60hz and requiring hardwiring (no socket issues). They are made by a manufacturer who also sell in the US, under the same brand name.

All are CE rated and (Im willing to bet) qualify for UL listing, if they aren't already marked. Essentially, I wanted a "domino" modular system, in sizes that aren't available in the US at this time. I'm comfortable with the importation process, have English installation specs, etc.

That said, I'm not a electrician or appliance installer-- is there anything I need to know or do? In other words, should installation basically be "hardwire and play" or are there additional steps required for compatibility?

Thoughts, however random are appreciated.

Thanks
