"I feel betrayed by the sale of the Garden Web to Houzz." Initially I was very upset and very disgruntled, and had thoughts of going elsewhere to find a site with forums that I liked better than the new GW. Well, there just isn't, in my opinion anyway, a better all round site than Garden Web, with the Home Forums, and the Garden Forums, complete with the trading forums. "But that didn't shut me up much. What did shut me up was being able to revert back to a gardenweb style background" I agree. If you like you can also choose a profile name that's different from your user name. If you go to Your Houzz on the upper right hand corner of the screen and click on Edit Profile you can type in a name in the FIRST name box below the USER name section. USER name is your login; FIRST name will be what shows up when you post.

We weren't banned, but rather banished to Disney. If you were being punished by Spike and you clicked on any THS hyperlink you were re-directed to disney.com. Sometimes you were never allowed to come back. I remember the only time I got banished. A member went to Spike because she didn't like my answer to a post. Nothing mean, or derogatory. I think she was embarrassed as she was corrected. (There were thin skinned, always-look-through-rosey-glasses, overly sensitive, and yes even rude and know-it-all members then too.) So without discussion I got banned. Several weeks later iVillage took over and my good friend Poohbear went behind the scenes with the truth. I was allowed to return immediately.

Sue, I did receive your private message and just responded. You are right on. I can not read the message in my email because with HOUZZ it is sent as a "private message". My private email only tells me that somone has sent me a HOUZZ message, thus I have to sign in to HOUZZ to read it .........On GW, we were sending an "email", thus I could read the message in my email.. Hello o o o o Annie, is anybody home???? This is what I say when something is so obvious and I don't figure it out....LOL!!! Email vs private message....kind of basic!!!!
