Not mine. Its a few streets down. I talked to the guy. He said he planted it last year. They are sold in one gallons. His soil is orchard quality..blackish. I could see that it got full sun,reflected heat from that wall. And no competing plants. Nothing from roots or any shade.
Regans Nursery in Newark or Fremont, usually has them..by May. Now,I know that Papayas aren't always self fertile and that's why they say to plant at least three. But,some are self fertile as the photo shows. Tough call..grow from seed and protect until large enough to go out,or buy one 12-16" tall and has a good chance to grow all summer and survive a mild winter.
