We have glass glasses. I have 3 4oz plastic glasses for my great niece and nephew when they visit. When my 2 sons were growing up we only had plastic glasses. Now that everyone in the house is an adult we have graduated to adult type of glasses. lol

I use Aladdin's hard plastic with the straw for most drinks, glasses for milk and water. That is the only plastic I use and never let my drink sit for a long time in it. I tossed all of soft plastic after the episode with my plastic cereal containers.

I use glass. They are easier to clean.

I like plastic for everyday because I'm clumsy and hate cleaning up broken glass. At the dining table we always use glass.

Emma.....Is there a problem with plastic? I have both glass and plastic but prefer plastic because it's lighter.....I've used plastic for years.

I prefer glass but have arthritis issues so have switched to using plastic nearly all the time for daily use...hate picking up glass slivers...as some one else said.

Glass only!!! I *REALLY* hate when I'm out at a restaurant/bar and they charge me $5 for a drink that they put in a stinking plastic cup!!!!!!!! argggggghhhhhh!

With exception of four 6 oz brightly colored plastic glasses for visiting small children, my glasses are glass. My everyday always-reach-for are the French Working Glass that I've had for a couple of decades in two sizes. They have a plastic snap on lid and do double duty for refrigerator leftovers, beating an egg, all kinds of things. But I have to admit the larger one fits a man's hand better than my own, and they are heavy. Which is probably why I've had them so long....you have to almost throw one hard to break it. Not that I do that ;)

When I first moved into this new home, I had some type of beetle in the kitchen pantry, probably came in with the lumber. I treated the area then bought the large plastic containers for cereal to keep bugs out in case they came back. I used them a couple of years, then I opened one with cornflakes in it............it smelled awful, almost as bad as a dead animal. I tossed the cereal and the containers. I had already gotten rid of other plastic. I thought it would be alright for dry food, but evidently not.

There have been problem with plastics from day one. It takes them at least 20 year to realized how dangerous it is. Sort of like artificial sweeteners. Then they take out the chemical that caused the problem, but then they have to wait another 20 years to see what happens to people who use it. I use glass for storage.

As for glasses I use break resistant. They are like Corel dishes, it takes a lot to break one of those. I would use that for children.

We use glass, mostly. But I have a cupboard of Tervis insulated glasses in different sizes for our use and guests to use on the patio and in the boat. I always have one of the big 24 oz. tumblers at my side, filled with water.

We use glass for the most part at home, but we have large Tervis tumblers to use outside and I notice that my parents tend to use them inside, too. I have a plastic, refillable water bottle with a filter top that I use at my desk.

I use glass & my husband uses plastic.

Glass for indoors but insist on plastic/acrylic for outdoors. All are reusable so no landfill waste.

Glass only, I don't like the way water tastes in plastic tumblers & thats about all I drink.

With three kids and tile, we use plastic glasses. They are just a mix of freebies, gifts and a few we have purchased. I do have an inexpensive set of matching glass glasses for when we have company. They rarely get used.

Currently, plastic for small visitors but we've used glass since our own kids were old enough to use them. Glass sets are cheap to replace when a few have broken, the odd lot remainders are given away.

We wash plastic items by hand, none go into the dishwasher (to avoid the very hot water causing leaching of chemicals onto other things)

All glass here. I bought a large number of inexpensive stemless wine glasses that I use for everyday water, iced tea, soda. I like that they fit securely in my hand .. and I like the way they look!

Glass when I have folks in. Otherwise, when it's me, I drink iced water from my hard plastic water bottle.

The containers that bring water to my mug ...

... are mainly mugs, come to think of it. Coffee and milk, also.

I have glasses that are used for juices, etc. and some plastic ones that are rarely used.

I use mostly glass. Love the way everything tastes out of glass. I do use sports bottles too, some of mine are plastic, some are medal.

Glass, but my family used coloured stainless steel glasses, when I was young. Does anyone else remember them? They kept our cold drinks nice and cold, but I don't even want to know if whatever was used to colour them was highly toxic or not! I prefer glass, but my everyday vessel for grabbing a drink during the day is plastic. It gets knocked around quite a bit and a real glass tumbler is subject to breakage. However, I take a glass of V8 Tomato juice in the morning and for that I use a glass container because tomato juice stains plastic, gets into small scratches, and is tough to clean from plastic.

I have all kinds of footed glassware but for everyday I use my pretty green short plastic glasses. I don't own a regular glass and since I like to take them outside in the summer, the plastic works well.

I have sets of glass and sets of hard plastic, sets of crystal. But I use daily a big Tervis tumbler with the additional handle for my morning iced coffee drink. I really need a handle. I also have beside me 24 hrs a day one of my metal insulated bubba water containers with a handle added to it also. I have a big collection of various types and sizes of water "bottles" in all colors and material.

If we have company for a meal I use the crystal or good glass depending on the occasion.

I am not picky at all but I definitely prefer a handle these days. My favorites are Tervis and Bubba mugs,insulated, don't sweat, and long term cold.

Glass here too. It's because I prefer the texture of glass, crystal and pottery materials (ceramic, porcelain, etc.) when touching my mouth over plastic. It's smoother. Plastic is scratchy no matter how smooth it looks.

If one day, I need to use plastic glass due to easy handling, I would probably use straws with it.

I mostly use my Aladdin BP(gas station) cup with a handle. It keeps my tea cold. If I'm just drinking water, I have plastic glasses that I like. They are supposed to be a safe plastic.

All of mine are glass. Only children get plastic. My glasses were bought in Vancouver last year from the "Arctic Air" tv show. The sold off all their props. I got something like 36 highball glasses for $5!
