Howdy, First, thanks for everyone's replies. Rick, our temps are far from 60F nights..Heck, it can snow as late as May. My larger Adeniums were getting some light, including artificial. West and north windows. One problem is finding the right pots. Unless I order online, finding certain sizes and shaped containers are a challenge. Most green houses here closed their doors. HD sells ceramic, 'not interested.' If Adeniums are potted in larger containers, will they grow taller? Lady...What type of fertilizer do you use? I usually fertilize with Fish Emulsion..Adeniums flowered, but I wonder if they'll have more and longer-lasting blooms if another type is used. Hey Gill...yep, I was given great advice..Guess I'm expecting a miracle though..lol. How you doing? During winter, guess you can say I hide in a shell..very seldom do I get online. As to your question...years ago, I wrote two manuscripts, but didn't have high expectations. I submitted the first manuscript to a few agents with negative results. Thankfully, most 'rejection' letters were hand-written instead of generic form letters. Still, I don't fare well when it comes to rejection, so I gave up. When I got my first computer, I was asked to choose a screen name. After hundreds, lol, of that name is taken, the title hopefulauthor came to mind. After killing a bunch of plants and giving up on gardening on the gulf. I am back at it again. This time a lot smarter. I look when I drive and see what is growing like crazy when everything else is struggling to survive. Then I research the item. The days of buying what was pretty at the nurseries is over. Plants that grow 15 miles inland may not even have a chance on the coast. The same with plants that grow here may not make it inland. We have beautiful rubber trees and Banyan Figs and they will not make it a summer inland outside. I do believe the key is in the invasive root system. They drink the cool water about 5-6 feet down and are happy with the heat. Kind of like us when we go into the AC of our house when it is hot and humid. The plants out of Mexico do well because of their leaf structure and root system. The waxyer the leaf the more heat they seem to be able to take. Plus long term adaptation. Then again I cannot get the mexican sage to grow here. It is a rock everywhere else. I even see it right on the water at the islands backside. It just will not grow well where I live. Go figure maybe a microclimate?? A friend told me of all the beautiful Hybrid Tea roses she bought at Walmart yesterday. My thoughts were dead in a year. Now when I go I am after something in particular not just a pretty plant but a coastal survivor. Just my take on this Texas coast plants Jim

It depends a lot on the scooter and the batteries. For example mine takes 2 batteries which last charged forever. In fact I have still not had it drop a single bar of the charge. I have a charger for it here in the house where I keep it and if I have taken it out and done a long drive with it I will put the charger on it. Some only take one battery and it is a smaller battery so therefore it will have less of a charge and not last as long. The actual battery life will depend on the battery itself. Most of the descriptions for them in the specs will tell you the type and number of them and the strength and charging times etc. When buying a used one that is important to make sure it still has good functioning batteries and a charger because those items are not cheap. I made slip on covers for my arm rests because I don't like having my arms on the plastic. They were so easy to sew up, I am going to make several pairs of Gloves for her in multiple colors. lol We don't have much of a winter here so I should be ok using my carrier even in winter because the cover that came with it is a super thick heavy duty cover. We can use the lift in the pickup but it would still be outside. It might work in the Hummer but then we would have no extra room in the back of the Hummer at all, it is not very spacious back there even with the seat backs down. Mine is a larger model scooter but my husband and neighbor easily lifted it in and out of the back of the pickup.The overall weight of the Shoprider Deluxe scooter without batteries is only 176lbs,and has a maximum range of 25 miles on a charge. one feature that I had not really thought about but now I don't think I would consider one with out is the seat that swivels for easy in and out, plus lift up arm rests. I do wish my seat had up and down adjustments which some do. It does have a nice headlight and tail lights as well as a horn but the horn is not very loud. I have one of those bulb horns on my three wheel bike that is much louder. I have added a nice cup holder that will hold my metal Bubba insulated water bottle. I got that at walmart for $8 in the bike dept.I use one that is made for a bike on my wheelchair and bike. The ones they try to sell for scooters are priced too high in most cases. I put a zip tie in my basket in a loop through the weaves and I have a carabiner hooked to it, when I put my purse in the basket I hook the straps into the carabiner and that way it is secure so no one can just come by and grab it out of my basket. I put my mailing labels with my name and address on it in various places so I can always identify it. We bought a heavy duty bike lock up system with a strong cable and lock at harbor freight so I can use the cable to lock it onto the carrier if we will be leaving it on there for a while, like at a restaurant. People are so brazen these days it would not surprise me to come back out and find it has been unloaded and stolen. With the cable locking it to the carrier it would at least slow them down. My husband gets kind of obsessive with the tie downs he put on it to carry it on the carrier but that is just him. I think one good tie down across the center floor of the scooter and around the carrier would be enough. The carrier has tie down areas all over it.

Hi Daisy! I am so glad to see one more motorcycle/scooter rider in the garden forum! :-) Three of us, we all have/had Honda bikes! You are the captain rider here for sure-started riding in 1967. :-) I started riding in 2008, purchased my first scooter-2009 Honda Ruckus(50cc), had so much fun, but couldn't keep up with Harley one day on my way to a friend's house, so moved up to a Honda Big Ruckus (250cc); then fell in love with a Piaggio Mp3; then one of my back street neighbors stopped by with his red Vespa 2 summers ago, he needed to sell it to buy a car.......it's like God dropped a Vespa right in front of me, I couldn't say no! :-) Not good at selling things, so I keep them all. Still ride Ruckus a lot within 3 miles range-gym, library and stores. Ride the bigger bikes for longer rides and busy roads. Can't wait for Spring, really miss riding, still have a lot of snow on the ground, and salt on the road. Do you wear riding gear when you ride? I only wear riding gears and fullface helmet for bigger bikes, may be I should use a gear for Ruckus too. You're in zone 10, so you can ride all year round! :-) Hope Ken can come back here with another Honda. :-)
