Dining Room Lighting - Pendant too large?

I would like to remove my 6-globe chandelier and replace it with an over sized pendant to simplify the look. Although I would actually prefer two medium sized inverted (bowl) pendants 15-18" in diameter, but if each
weighs around 10 lbs, I would probably require two junction boxes to
replace the current one which is centered, and that would build the cost
considerably.

My room is about 14 x 16 with a tray ceiling to 9'. I found a reasonably priced inverted pendant with the glass measuring 24" wide, and an overall height of 32." It accommodates 5 - 100 w bulbs, although I would use less wattage. If I hang it 34" above the table, that would leave about 44" to the ceiling. Since the fixture is 32" high, that would only leave 12" of chain, even less when you subtract maybe 3" for the canopy and ring at the top. Would it look disproportionate to have a 32" fixture hanging on a 9" chain? Below is a link. Thanks.http://www.lightingdirect.com/vaxcel-lighting-pd65324-babylon-5-light-full-sized-pendant/p918108
