2005 lawn renovation progession w/ lots of pics
Comments (2)That's Nice!! I've seen a lot of questions from many who are on their first try. So I figured I'd put together a little post with my backyard progression, it has been 2 years today since seeding the back yard. I did not realize that you had gone through this before! It is definitely helpful, and encouraging to see a renovation through the complete process. Thanks for this post!...See Moreclematis 'Carnaby'
Comments (9)I like my carnaby a lot, but they fade badly in the sun. I have mine under a large spruce tree where it gets at most two hours of late afternoon sun. I have it in a container because it couldn't compete with the tree roots in the ground. As much as I like carnaby where it is, I do not think I would want it where it got direct sun anytime between mid-morning and mid-afternoon because it would fade too fast. I posted a picture in another thread to answer a question. You can see it here: Nelly Moser?. Just click the link and scroll down the page. I think you can make out the circumstances in the picture....See MoreSaga pics: old kitchen, new cabs, flood, beloved pet.
Comments (10)Oh my goodness, what a beautiful, beautiful dog. I do love goldens. She looks like a wonderful friend. And your flood picture -- major ouch. Wish I could help you clean up or email you a cyber-casserole. Here's hoping the frustration and stress levels start to ease up. If you can get past that DW decision, that will probably help you feel much better -- sense of accomplishment and knocking something off the list. Keep that sense of humor going!...See MoreI love this time of year!
Comments (14)Thanks everyone for your nice comments! I am not sure how much sun Sunpower gets. I will check tomorrow since I will be home all day. I know that Atlantis, June, On Stage and Great Expectations all get a lot of direct sun from sun-up until around 1pm. Sunpower may not get as much since the deck may block some of it. It surprised me how well GE is doing but maybe it's because it gets some direct sun. This is #4 for me and it seems like I finally found the perfect spot for it. I thought I never would because I don't live in the perfect climate for it. I think I will take Sunpower out of the barrel and move the barrel out of the garden and plant either it or maybe my Dawn's Early Light in that spot. I think a yellow one would look great there! Geez, I just checked my records to see when I bought Sunpower...2014...maybe it's a dud lol. Jo- I planted Ivory Queen in 2016...I can't wait for this one mature. It is planted in a newer garden with a lot of others that are going to get big too. I may have to expand some of the beds so I have room for them all lol. I have a nice long holiday weekend so I have some time to try and get stuff done in the yard. One thing I really like about the Hostas being planted close together is they keep the weeds from growing! That's always a plus in my book! Linda : )...See Moreevermore_gw z 4/5 NB
