Love those curly leaves on Wheee! Is that a trait it achieves with maturity? I saw some in a nursery the other day, and didn't notice that.

I like your ferns too. What kind? I like the color. I have Lady ferns, they are an anonymous green.

I have Sun Power too: in the ground. So far, not impressed. 3 years and still just 4 lackluster leaves.

Linnea, Wheee! was planted in 2015 and has become better and better each year. I can't remember exactly what it looked like when I planted it but this is the best year by far. I recommend getting one! It's so unique!

The ferns are Ostrich ferns and are starting to get out of hand lol. For years, I had just one and now it has decided to spread all over.

I probably should put Sunpower in the ground and see if it does better...if only I could find a spot for it!

Everything has filled in beautifully! Atlantis looks especially happy and so does your Luna Moth. If you move the barrel, could you plant Sun Power right where it is now but in the ground? It would blend in great with all your other hostas.

Does your Sunpower get some good sun? I just planted one last summer, in a lot of sun, and it’s (so far) one of the best growers. And last year, even though it was new and small, it never scorched.

Here’s a pic from last week. It seems to come up chartreuse.

But also Linda- your garden is beautiful. Love the combos of colors! I’m getting a Great Expectations and hope it will do as well for me as yours!

Linda, I can't say enough how beautiful your beds are - nothing beats this time of year. Your very lovely Ivory Queen could be older than mine (2015) as the leaves appear wider...or maybe mine are narrower due to lots of sun (as my June(s) are).

Sun Power:. I must have gotten the runt of the litter because it didn't do anything....in its pot... until I planted it in almost all day sun. Now it is finally looking like Sun Power!

Windymess is right - it loves sun - hence its name, methinks :-).

Thanks everyone for your nice comments! I am not sure how much sun Sunpower gets. I will check tomorrow since I will be home all day. I know that Atlantis, June, On Stage and Great Expectations all get a lot of direct sun from sun-up until around 1pm. Sunpower may not get as much since the deck may block some of it. It surprised me how well GE is doing but maybe it's because it gets some direct sun. This is #4 for me and it seems like I finally found the perfect spot for it. I thought I never would because I don't live in the perfect climate for it.

I think I will take Sunpower out of the barrel and move the barrel out of the garden and plant either it or maybe my Dawn's Early Light in that spot. I think a yellow one would look great there!

Geez, I just checked my records to see when I bought Sunpower...2014...maybe it's a dud lol.

Jo- I planted Ivory Queen in 2016...I can't wait for this one mature. It is planted in a newer garden with a lot of others that are going to get big too. I may have to expand some of the beds so I have room for them all lol.

I have a nice long holiday weekend so I have some time to try and get stuff done in the yard. One thing I really like about the Hostas being planted close together is they keep the weeds from growing! That's always a plus in my book!

Wonderful, absolutely wonderful. As far as Sun Power goes, by all means, don't hesitate to move it. I had a Deja Blu that was doing nothing for three years; I moved it last season, and it gained about eight new pips this year in the new spot! Please post more pics as the season continues! : )

Thanks Don! I will post more pics later. I also have Deja Blu and it has finally become a decent size after 4 years. Some of my hostas have been attacked by cutworms or snails so they are not so picture worthy. Guess I should have been more diligent this spring and put out more slug bait.

I checked the sun situation for the garden on the side of the deck and right now it gets a LOT of sun. Almost until 3 pm. I think it will get less sun as the summer goes on which is a good thing because it is HOT here in the summer. They are all growing so big and I am going to have to move some of them. I already moved out a few last year and you can't even tell because they filled up the spaces.

I want to buy some more this year but so far I have not done that. I really have no more space : (
