Under bathroom sink pull-out

Having custom bathroom vanity built...double sinks with tower between. Carpenter will put low-sided roll out drawer in bottom of cabinets under sinks. Are these useful? They're not drawers, per se, just cab floors that slide out. Anybody have these? Are they any good?

I have them and I really like them. I don't have to crawl on my knees to get the stuff out, to see what is back there. I had 2 side drawers added too. I don't know if it would be useful to everyone. There are multiple layouts that can be very helpful. I had LED hard wired into the cabinet and attached an infrared (i think) auto on/off switch at the door frame (not shown here).

Wow, enduring, that's pretty cool. What kinds of things can you keep down there that won't topple over when you move the drawer in and out?

My parents house is like that, but there’s a wall with a wide doorway into the area with the vanity, so it’s open but also easy to close off by just putting a curtain rail up. It’s also oriented to the room such that if you only use enough light at the vanity to wash your hands for a midnight potty run, it really isn’t enough to bother someone in the bed if you place the bed sensibly. Getting ready in the morning would be trickier if you needed to do makeup and so on so needed proper lighting, so that’s where a screen or a curtain would come in.

Thanks Jules8 for your feedback. I'm not too picky about spotting. This will be a bathroom used daily. I am glad to hear that there isn't splashing. I will be using a single hole Hansgrohe faucet. Thanks for the info about the slope, and as you've indicated it seems too shallow. I have a limited space for the sink in my vanity and this one provides a lot of interior space within the confines of my cabinet. If I decide to get another sink I will have to call the cabinet maker to double check the tolerance I have. The look of this sink is really nice though and I probably will stay with it.

Looks like it's something disintegrating up under the sink...is there anything black up there? Sometimes the underside of sinks is covered in something black (older sinks I've had in my houses). Not sure what it is, but maybe it's getting old and just dropping little bits off? Maybe a black rubber fitting on something? Is that a pull out shelf? Is something tall that's usually kept on the shelf scraping the bottom of the sink above when it's pulled in and out?

I checked with my designers and although the 19" +/- height is pretty standard that is with a standard 8 gal container. They suggested getting a rev a shelf pull out unit sold separately and buying 7 gal containers which are the same approx size and shape only shorter and can be ordered from just about anywhere. Good luck!

I have one as the bottom shelf, too. I love it...it is so nice to not have things lost in the black hole under the sink. My cabinet maker put a beautiful formica on the bottom of the pull out, so that there will never be any stains from cleaner containers or anything else.

Nice Olychick :) I have always loved your vanity and used it as my inspiration.

Janelor, I have some clear square and rectangle containers that, contain :) I have liked using the tubs for different thinks. On the left side under the narrow pull out I have cleaning supplies. They just fit under there. On the right side under the narrow pullout I have various other odds and end. In the front I have a long refrigerator container that is about 3" x 14" or something, it fits across the back to take up the depth of the other containers. I leave the center low and store my cleaning rags. The front area between the 2 containers, and in front of the drain, I store a roll of paper towels, upright. In my right narrow upper tray I store my hair dryer, brush, and hair spray. In the Left upper I store odds and ends, light extra toothpaste, mouth wash, hand lotion. And I keep the hand lotion right there at the entry so I can open the door and pump directly into my hand. I don't keep it on the counter. I do have a soap pump installed in my counter so the left upper drawer needs to be kept neat at the back or the contents can bump into my soap reservoir at the back, where it hangs down from under the counter pump. I love it.

Olychick has a very nice pull out setup. I think she would post a link to her reveal. Or you can do a search for her reveal, maybe in 2012 or 2011, in GW.

Our master bath cabinets will have them -- my biggest beef is not having a place to store my blow drier (and I don't want to have to unplug it & put it away daily). Sooo, we will have electrical outlets placed toward the front of the pull out, allowing me to keep my blow drier plugged in and I can just stash it back in the pull out drawer when I'm done using it. Super excited about it (silly I know).

monrovia mom, like you, that is what I do with my dryer, keep it plugged in all the time within the cabinet. I have an outlet in my cabinet, behind the pullout where I keep the dryer.

Thank you, enduring. That is so nice to hear. I swore I'd never post this again, just because I felt like it had been over-posted, but I guess it's been a while. I don't see any pics of the sink pull out, tho'. If you want to see, I can probably photo and add to photobucket. Nothing really unusual, altho because I have a vessel sink, I did have two cute little undercounter drawers made in that sink cabinet. They hold mostly sample sized soap and shampoo for travel. You'll notice the glass sink is gone, replaced by a white one. The glass CRACKED and I had to replace it...I won't even tell you how much $$ I wasted on that sink I loved. But I do like the white one a lot.
