How do you find homes for your roosters?
Comments (9)I let my hens sit for one go around to keep the flock with enough young hens to produce enough to cover the cost of feed. Yeah, too many roos is always an issue. I used to butcher them off, but really don't like to do that if I can avoid it. I like your attitude, so many people just can't bear to take any action and end up with the whole flock suffering because of the extra males. I have had reasonable luck with putting an add in the little advertising circular. I ask very little for cost and usually get only a couple dollars for one. It should be done as soon as you are completely certain it is a cockrell. You will get a few people who want them for pets, but I don't kid myself that all of them go for that. How I increase their chances of it, however, is to never sell or give away more than one at a time to any given interested party. Most folks won't drive out to the country for one bird to slaughter around here. Nor do I give them to anyone whom I suspect lives in the city or is totally clueless, because I know the animal will suffer for it. It is more humane to put them down than that. I have also kept the number of an old gent who makes no bones about wanting all the extra roos I have to butcher. I've never had to call him.....but there is often someone around who will offer. We also have an Amish auction fairly close. There are always roos in cages there....See MoreSaving threads so you can find them later or so you have them (an

Comments (0)Hello all! I'm a user experience designer who converted from landscape design. I'm doing research now for a client who is an interior designer specializes in window treatments. I'm very interested in learning how you go about choosing your window treatments and designers. If you'd be so kind as to follow the link here to complete this brief survey and/or comment with the answers to these questions I'd be so grateful! While the questions seem veered toward "clients," I'd love to hear from designers themselves, too. Thank you and Happy Tuesday! Lily Window Treatment Survey (on Google) Questions: 1) What do you look for in a window treatment, designer and their service/website? What are your biggest struggles in the process? What about it is easy, inspiring, and delightful? 2) Where do you typically shop for window treatments? Where online? 3) When do you tend to look for them? 4) Who would you go to for help? 5) How would you decide between two or more different designers, manufacturers or websites? 6) Why do you think window treatments are an important, yet difficult item for which to shop?...See MoreBunny
