tiger-- are you using the Opera Glass? I just installed a band of 1x2" glass tiles in Puccini Purple with my calacatta marble field tiles. I love them! Using Bill's recommendation, we used Laticrete's Silver Shadow on the marble and the glass, and it looks great. Especially because it's a "cold gray" rather than a warm gray. My guess is that Platinum will have a similar effect. Looking forward to seeing your pics, and I will try to get some up soon too.

kimiko, I think they will look great with what you are describing in your kitchen. The only tips I can give are: expect it to take longer than you think. We were probably too obsessed with making it perfect when laying them. We were trying to get the best fit possible and making them touch and interlock. But, if we realized that once you do get to the grouting stage, it doesn't matter if the space between them isn't perfect on the wall. Just check for level and plumb as you go along. You want to keep those horizontal and vertical lines straight. We did not install it the way you see tile usually installed, the first row all along the counter, then do the 2nd row all the way around, etc. This was more of a "pyramid" pattern to it. It was the best way to get the lines straight. Order a bit more than the 10% that you usually order for waste. Just because. We didn't make many (if any) cutting mistakes but maybe it's their shape...I don't know--just order extra. We piped the grout in using a piping bag (not the pastry bag, but similar, find it at the tile aisle in Lowe's or wherever). We used Permacolor by Laticrete for the grout, in bright white. This is a true white and it gives the desired result of having the grout really be the same color as the tile, and not a slightly off-white look that other bright whites have. Hope this helps!

I just put in the Horus Art Cristalli tile in biscuit and I love it. I am awaiting the grout (which I will do in a matching color). I have honey/toffee maple cabinets in a Shaker style door, Crema Astoria granite (a creamy granite with white, black, and garnet areas, and with some subtle but not overpowering gray/silver movement). Even though I love clean lines, I chose this tile over the Tiffany (which is a straight subway) because it has a handmade appearance (the lines are kind of wavy, which go with the movement in the granite). It also has a little sparkle, which my granite does as well. I did not do a border or accent in my backsplash; I used only the HA Cristalli subways. I don't have a big kitchen - it's 10x10, only 15" from cabinet to counter. I chose to leave it plain as I want the focus on the granite and not the tile. I am so happy that I did! When I get a chance I will post some pictures.

I'm on the hunt for pictures of a shower using white subway tiles with white glass subway accent (i.e. horizontal stripe). Anyone seen or have one?? Planning to use white subway on walls and white 2" hex on floor. Would like an accent wall or vertical stripe in a different tile. Would white glass subway tiles work??
