Yes, I watch every year, we fill out our ballots and see how many we predicted right. I love the Oscars. I loved Lady Gaga's performance, I was actually surprised she did such a good job (even though I do like her songs). Eddie Redmayne's acceptance speech was the best I thought. That was such a deserved win, he was spectacular in "The Theory of Everything". I think Neil Patrick Harris did a good job, much better than some former hosts.

Always watch. In fact we have an Oscar party every year. This year it was kind of jinxed. Five people got sick with flu, upper respiratory infection, and colds. We went from 12 to 7 in no time flat. Last year we had 17. LOts of people in Florida this year. I thought the evening fell flat and I was rather disappointed because I love Neil Patrick Harris. No real surprises on the evening. I won the Oscar pool. Always love the fashions,but it was more fun when everyone didn't have stylists.

Lady Gaga was outstanding and she looked sensational but the tatoo's did not go with her attire...other than that I think even Julie Andrews was impressed! I can only imagine what the stage looked like in person but it looked beautiful on tv.

I had great intentions, got through an hour or so and fell asleep. 5 am rolls around too early to stay up past 9 pm. I also thought that Harris was terrible. Did wake up to hear Lady Gaga. Past that, I was in the land of Tiernan and Nod.

Took a break for Downton Abbey, didn't feel like I missed anything on the Oscars. I like the speeches this year, fewer people were thanking their lawyers and agents than in years past, and great thanks to their families :) I hope my theater major son saw JK's speech...but he hasn't called me yet so maybe not lol!

I like looking at the stars' backgrounds, and was happy to see that Lady Gaga did get her start in musical theater in high school and college.

The show keeps getting better, tighter, every year. But the red carpet show gets longer and duller!

I watched most of the show. Lady Gaga's tribute was really great and she looked wonderful, until she lifted her arms and showed her tattoos, they were really distracting to me. I'm not a fan of tatoos. I also thought the Legend/Common performance of Glory was emotional, I enjoyed it. Mostly agreed with selections. Didn't Julie Andrews look terrific?

Her tattoo's are who she is and she can not easily get rid of them, they were all over her back also. I thought she was great and when Julie Andrews walked out it brought tears to my eyes. I usually never watch AA's but nothing else was on. I thought Eddie Redmayne's speech was wonderful and so humble. I saw him being interviewed a few days ago, he really embraced the part, he seemed like a very nice young man. I was glad he won.

We had a family dinner for my mom's 86th Birthday and we did have the Oscars on. My mom doesn't know one person from the next (truth be known - neither do I) but she was riveted to the show.

The red carpet was meh. Nothing exciting, all very safe. oh, except when it started to pour with rain and got very chilly. I always feel sorry for the women. How do they stay warm, no jackets and no fat to keep them warm. Jennifer Lawrence wasn't there to trip on anything.

So glad J.K Simmons won. Loved him on the Closer.

Liked what Patricia Arquette had to say about women's rights (did you notice Meryl Streeps reaction) and I'm looking forward to seeing her in CSI: Cyber next week.

I have a new found respect for Lady Gaga. She had me glued to the tv while she was singing.

Watched it, but muted all the songs except Lady Gaga. Also muted creepy Terrence Howard's rambling, but rewound when some friends were commenting about how he was acting strange.

I wanted to like Patricia Arquette's speech, but it bugs me a bit.

Yes I watched. Agree that the performances were terrific. Harris on the other hand, fell flat in my book.

I wonder if Terrence Howard's stumble was a case of teleprompter glitch.

The Glen Campbell song (sung by Tim McGraw) made me cry. He must have written it not long after his diagnosis. Many tears in the audience following "Glory." And I suspect some of the passion behind Jennifer Hudson's performance was rooted in her family tragedy of several years ago. She's a terrific singer, and she looked beautiful. She's really maintained her considerable weight loss.

Yes, I saw Meryl Streep's reaction to Patricia Arquette's speech, and also Jennifer Lopez's next to her. I saw very little of the red carpet, but I did see Arquette, and she sounded a little off, I thought. So I wasn't sure what to expect from her acceptance speech. But she came through big time. She must have been pleased with the audience's response.

Neil Patrick Harris' gag about his predictions was kind of clever. I don't know how he did it, but that was the whole point.

Oh, and one more thing I forgot to mention. Scarlett Johansson's dress, pretty as it was, was so tight that she couldn't breathe properly. You could see her shoulders rise up with every breath. In her line of work, I'm sure she learned to breathe better than that.

I didn't watch the show, but was very pleased when Redmayne won best actor. I rarely see Oscar nominated films, but happened to have watched The Theory of Everything just last week and was astonished by Redmayne's spot-on portrayal of Stephen Hawking.

I enjoyed it this year, loved the stage sets. Loved Lady Gaga's performance. I thought some of Neil's jokes bombed. Seemed a bit more political this year but it is a big audience for the actor's to get their message out. I loved the guy I think he was the Director from Birdman (can't remember his name) during the Best Picture acceptance speech when someone reminded him to mention his wife. He said he didn't need to, he said said every morning he tells her he loves her. haha Call your parents, loved that

Watched the red carpet and the first hour of the show but then switched to Downton Abbey and never went back to the Oscars. I can't sit through all the bad jokes and endless acceptance speeches to get to the occasional highlight. I will have to look for Gaga's performance. If she wants to be taken seriously as an artist she needs to stop dressing in those silly get-ups. I thought her dress was pretty but the red dish washing gloves ruined it.

Agree Neil Patrick Harris was ho-hum, as was most of the night. For me the best host has been Billy Crystal. I knew Lady Gaga could carry a pop tune, but she was very impressive singing SOM, although I'm surprised they didn't have Idina Menzel do it. No wacko dresses that I could see, most were pretty. I wish J-Lo would get over the breasts hanging out look...it's just not flattering and getting old. The covered up stars were way more attractive.

OK....I am going to rant here. Is anyone familiar with Zanna Roberts Rossi? She was commentating last night for E, is the mentor for Project Runway All Stars and is a senior fashion editor for Marie Claire magazine. I can't for the life of me understand how she is a fashion editor. She always looks like a hot mess....the over-bleached, stringy, unkempt hair with black roots, thick, harsh black eyeliner, and not great clothes either. She looked so awful last night, i had to change the channel!

I thought Patricia Arquette's message about equal rights for women and salaries was inappropriate for an Oscar acceptance speech. She was using her 30 seconds of air time to send a message that she, nor most of the "rich" women in the audience could relate to. And Meryl Streep and Jennifer Lopez cheering and whistling - neither of them have to worry about salaries - with all their millions.

I watched the first hour and then taped the rest so that I could watch Downton Abbey, then I switched back to the Oscars. I think I'll just tape them every year - then I can fast forward through the commercials and boring parts. It's just way too long.

Neal Patrick Harris was surprisingly disappointing. He does such an outstanding job when he emcees the Tony Awards. Last night he was uninspiring - flat jokes, silly one liners and how embarrassing that he couldn't manage to pronounce David Oyelowo's name correctly.

Some other thoughts - Dakota Johnson was stunning in her red gown while Melanie Griffith looked like she was wearing a plastic mask. Julianne Moore was radiant, Kerry Washington wore a really elegant gown, Lady Gaga sang beautifully and I for once I wasn't completed distracted with her costume. Redmayne was adorable. John Travolta was creepy.

I want to tape J.K. Simmon's acceptance speech - just the part about calling (not texting) your parents.

Maire-cate, he mispronounced David Oyelowo's name on purpose, making fun of what John Travolta did last year to Idina Menzel's name. He even said that at the end when he showed his predictions.

Lady Gaga studied with a voice coach for 6 months prior to her performance. She was asked to sing this. J-Lo tripped a little bit going off stage. I did not watch it all, but saw lots of highlights (and low-lights) the next morning on several shows. I loved Neil in his underwear. That takes lots of balls (pun intended) to do that!

I hadn't seen any of it except Ms. Arquette's award. I was yelling, Amen! Amen!

Thank you for asking. I didn't know about Lady Gaga's performance. So good. Goosebumps and tears. Julie Andrews has surely brought a lot of happiness to a generations of children and deserves such lauding. Great, fantastic, wonderful performance.

It's true that most of the people present are probably paid very well. But they weren't the only audience. Patricia Arquette's speech was heard by millions of people, rich and poor, employers and employees, and probably a few lawmakers thrown into the mix.

I can remember when the Oscars could be counted on for political controversy. Susan Sarandon, anyone? Vanessa Redgrave? Michael Moore? And don't forget Marlon Brando!

Actually she was referring to the women in the audience - specifically the Amy Pascal email that was hacked at Sony. Ms. Pascal was head of Sony Pictures until some of her private emails were leaked. One of the more notable exchanges mentioned that Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams were given 7 point deals for American Hustle, while the male actors were given 9 points. And an analysis of the leaked information also indicated that there were pay discrepancies between male and female senior management. Whether you think they are "rich" or not is irrelevant - the point was that they weren't equal. Regardless of the number of zeros in your paycheck, we all want to be paid equally for equal work.
